Foodie news roundup for the week of Jan. 21.

January is National Sunday Supper Month. To celebrate, Sauce Pizza and Wine (pictured) is offering a deal to help make family time easier. Available exclusively at its Queen Creek location, hungry families can take advantage of the new Feed the Family offer, which includes two adult meals and two kids meals, all for just $25. Adults can select from guest-favorites like the Quinoa, Beet & Arugula Salad, Pasta & Meatballs, and Roasted Vegetable Salad, while the little ones can choose from any of the kids meal options including the Mac ‘N Cheese, Cheese Pizza, and more. The Feed the Family offer also includes four beverages and bread rolls, to complete the meal. Additional kids meals can be added on for just $5 each.

On Friday, Jan. 25, Press Coffee will donate 100 percent of profits from sales made in its stores and online to help kids and families at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The local roaster’s Day of Giving is part of its Press On Charities initiative, an ongoing commitment to support Arizona’s communities.

RED Development’s Block 23 in Phoenix announced its first restaurant tenant, Blanco Tacos & Tequila, a Fox Restaurant Concept (FRC) that will open at the mixed-use destination by the end of 2019. As the sixth location for the brand, the 6,997-sq.-ft. restaurant will expand Sam Fox’s presence in Downtown Phoenix.

Arizona Center has unveiled a new weekly farmers market in the heart of Downtown Phoenix. Open every Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., the new Arizona Center Farmers Market kicked off Wednesday, Jan. 23. More than 40 local small businesses and farmers will congregate in the center’s lush Grotto space, offering fresh produce, specialty food items, prepared foods, crafts, and body care items. Vendors include Arizona Bread Company, Big Red’s Hot Sauce, Doctor Hummus, Fluffy Vegans, Los Muertos Salsa, Midtown Microgreens, Pink Honey Candle, Sun Tan Honey Farms and more.

Giordano’s is doing its part to help keep New Year’s resolutions going strong with its new limited-time menu, available through Feb. 4. Giordano’s new Lighter Fare menu includes crisp kale salads and savory flatbread pizza with flavor profiles and reduced calorie count. Bonus: Anyone who is an LA Fitness member can show their LA Fitness membership card to get a 25 percent discount on these  new menu items at either one of the two Giordano’s restaurants (Paradise Valley or Arrowhead locations) in Metro Phoenix. 

On Friday, Jan. 25, Over Easy will celebrate National Irish Coffee Day at its six Arizona locations. Both its traditional hot Irish Coffee and its Iced Irish Coffee will be available for $5.

Portillo’s announced details for its newest location in Avondale. The restaurant will be located at Park 10 off McDowell Road and marks the brand’s third Arizona restaurant. Fans are invited to register for a chance to attend a sneak peek meal prior to the opening and receive updates on the Portillo’s Avondale location by signing up at portillos.com/avondale.

When guests dine-in and enjoy one of Carrabba’s Italian Grill’s three signature dishes (wood-grilled Chicken Bryan, Chicken Marsala or Pollo Rosa Maria) from Carrabba’s now through Jan. 31, they will get a free order of lasagne or spaghetti.
