SanTan Brewing Company’s new spring seasonal beer, Grapefruit Shandy, is a delicious American Ale blended to perfection with locally sourced Arizona grapefruit juice. Available at craft beer establishments on tap and in cans featuring SanTan’s fresh new look, Grapefruit Shandy will be available in Arizona, California, Texas and New Mexico on Feb. 1.
Hopdoddy Burger Bar has taken poutine and transformed it into a burger with house-cut, triple-blanched Kennebec fries smothered in gravy, topped with Tillamook cheddar cheese and caramelized onions, placed atop an all-natural beef patty and a sunny side-up egg on top. Available through Feb. 7. The limited-edition Café Au Lait shake, featuring homemade spiced ice cream and cold press coffee, is piled high with whipped cream and a sprinkling of mocha dust. Available through Jan. 31.
Local restaurateur, Dave Andrea, of Brat Haus, opens Smokehaus restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale on Feb. 1. Smokehaus’ claim to fame will be the Santa Maria Tri-Tip Sandwich, which is hand rubbed, cut thick and served on a grilled French roll. Other menu items include The Greasewood, a half-pound beef patty topped with roasted green chili, and the 1984 Taco Salad, made with chopped romaine, seasoned ground beef, tomatoes, red beans, cheddar, fire roasted corn, avocado and corn chips all tossed in haus-made Catalina dressing.
As the newest addition to the Elmer’s Restaurants, Inc. family, the first ever Egg N’ Joe opened to the public last week in the North Valley. The restaurant will be open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. With ample choices for breakfast and lunch, the Egg N’ Joe menu features an emphasis on fresh, quality, premium ingredients and traditional flavors.
SOL Mexican Cocina wants to celebrate the Waste Management Phoenix Open with you. Bring your ticket stub Feb. 1 through Feb. 7, and you will swing a free order of their Naked Guacamole.
On Saturday, Feb. 6 from 5 to 10 p.m., Bad Water Brewing is hosting the second annual “Brewers Bowl” craft beer festival in Downtown Scottsdale. Returning for a second time after last year’s successful kick off, the event is designed to showcase the growing craft beer scene in Arizona. The Brewers Bowl will feature beer tastings from at least 18 local breweries, plus live music and food trucks. The event will benefit the Paradise Valley Emergency Food Bank, a food cooperative dedicated to providing emergency provisions to the community’s hungry. General admission is $35 dollars and includes 20 beer-tasting tickets. VIP admission is $55, and includes 25 tickets, plus one-hour early entry into the event. . To purchase tickets, visit www.brewersbowl.com.
Danzeisen Dairy is partnering with Phoenix Children’s Hospital in the month of February to raise funds for Phoenix Children’s Hospital. For each Danzeisen dairy product sold in the month of February, Danzeisen will donate part of those proceeds to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Southern Rail’s new winter menu selections celebrate the best and freshest veggies in the Valley. The seasonal, veggie-driven menu features new renditions of some of Chef Justin Beckett’s signature dishes and healthy-ish versions of Southern staples, including the delicious avocado toast (pictured).
