Giving Tree Cafe’s Delicious Organic Food Satisfies Every Dietary Need

For those with dietary restrictions, it can be hard to find fulfilling options for dining out. Whether you’re vegan, dairy intolerant, gluten-free or just trying to eat better, Giving Tree Cafe is a healthy choice for everyone.

David Warr, owner of Giving Tree Cafe in Phoenix

David Warr, the mastermind behind Giving Tree Cafe in Phoenix, was tired of not having options that were convenient, healthy and sustainable. This restaurant focuses on sustainability while offering an exclusively organic, vegan and gluten-free menu.

At Giving Tree Cafe, you’ll find that all meals are plant-based, soy-free, gluten-free, seed oil-free and processed sugar-free. The restaurant makes ingredients from scratch and in small batches.

When making any decisions at his restaurants, Warr asks himself and his staff, “Is this sustainable for seven generations going forward?” Warr says one of the biggest reasons the restaurant is all organic is because if pesticides and herbicides are present in your food, your body’s water, flora and fauna is destroyed, which eventually makes the planet unsustainable.

“Our goal at Giving Tree Cafe is to be the model for a restaurant that truly is authentically healthy and show the world that there is a way to be a sustainable model,” says Warr.

He wants to set the standard for healthy eating because he believes chefs have a responsibility to take pride in the food they feed their guests. Giving Tree Cafe is proof that healthy food can be delicious.

Warr says The Giving Tree’s consistent bestseller is the KrunchRap. He was “bragging” to his employees that he felt he could make anything vegan and they challenged him to create the KrunchRap, a veganized version of the Taco Bell staple. Now, Giving Tree Cafe sells a multitude of flavors of the KrunchRap, ranging from Mediterranean to breakfast.

Another fan favorite is the Buddha bowl, which comes full of roasted maple acorn squash, turmeric cauliflower, shishito peppers, brussels sprouts and Bangkok sauce with a base of wild rice or quinoa. The sauces on all dishes are made fresh in-house each morning.

The restaurant also offers grab-and-go items, including juices, sandwiches, wraps and desserts. There are events almost everyday at the space, such as open mic night, interpretive art and more.

Giving Tree Cafe is located at 2024 N. 7th St., Suite 111, Phoenix, AZ 85006. Learn more at www.givingtreecafe.com.
