Bourbon Steak at Fairmont Scottsdale will celebrate the upcoming Kentucky Derby with its inaugural “Millionaire’s Row Kentucky Derby Lawn Party” on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. Event goers will be able to take part in mint juleps, live blues music, bourbon tastings, wine, horseshoes on the lawn, wagering benefiting charity as well as prizes and gifts. The party will spotlight Southern-inspired eats including the Kentucky Hot Brown, squash blossoms, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, pulled pork sliders, a special “Seersucker Cocktail” and more.
To really get revelers into the horse-racing spirit, Fairmont Scottsdale’s National Champion thoroughbred, Destinee, will pose for photos on the lawn and women are invited to don their fanciest hats for a chance to win a top-notch prize. (A mystery judge will do the evaluating.) And you’ll still be able to catch the race as the Kentucky Derby will be shown on indoor and outdoor plasma screens.
Tickets to the Millionaire’s Row Kentucky Derby Lawn Party at Bourbon Steak are $65 per person and include featured drinks, hors d’oeuvres and complimentary valet parking. Proceeds benefit Thunderbird Charities. To reserve your spot, call 480.513.6002, www.fairmont.com/scottsdale.
