DiMaggio’s Italian Restaurant is expanding with a second Scottsdale location, bringing its signature take on nostalgic Italian-American dining to Uptown Plaza in Central Phoenix.
The new restaurant will anchor the courtyard at the historic shopping center, where the team is creating an elevated flagship designed to build on the success of the original DiMaggio’s in McCormick Ranch. The space will feature an updated design, classic Italian culinary traditions and a private dining room with its own dedicated entrance for VIP arrivals and special events.
Frank DiMaggio, the restaurant’s namesake and a relative of legendary Yankee Joe DiMaggio, has quickly established the restaurant as a destination for Italian American dining in the Valley. Now, as the brand enters its next phase, hospitality veterans Justin Cohen, former COO of Riot Hospitality, and Kyle Carnine, a former manager at Steak 44, have joined the team to help lead the expansion.
At Uptown Plaza, DiMaggio’s will offer a more immersive setting while maintaining the energy and personality of its original location. The restaurant is intended to serve as a lively gathering spot and a more discreet venue for private dinners, celebrations and other events.
“The love and demand for DiMaggio’s has been overwhelming, and we wanted our second location to really elevate what people already love about us,” DiMaggio said.
Co-founders Brandon and Michele Gioffre first introduced DiMaggio’s as a weekend pop-up at the Uptown Farmers Market in 2021, drawing crowds with Calabrese family recipes, hand-pulled mozzarella, filled-to-order cannoli and classic Italian dishes.
