Hotel Solaya Brings a New Desert-Inspired Stay to Old Town Scottsdale

A new era of desert hospitality has arrived in Scottsdale with the opening of Hotel Solaya, a reimagined Old Town destination that has officially joined the JdV by Hyatt portfolio. Following an extensive transformation, the property introduces a fresh interpretation of the desert resort experience, blending modern Mexican design influences, creative energy, and a distinctly social atmosphere.

Located steps from Old Town Scottsdale’s dining, nightlife, and cultural attractions, the 194-room hotel is designed as an immersive escape that still feels connected to its surroundings. Guest rooms and suites have been fully redesigned, while public spaces showcase art-driven interiors, design details, and a layered architectural style that plays with light, shadow, and texture.

The name Solaya itself reflects that vision, combining “Sol,” meaning sun, with “Aya,” the goddess of dawn, to evoke themes of light, renewal, and creative awakening. That concept carries throughout the hotel’s design philosophy, where every space is intended to feel intentional yet fluid, polished yet inviting.

“Hotel Solaya was designed to celebrate the energy of Scottsdale while offering guests a space that feels vibrant and welcoming,” General Manager Tobby Rau said. “From the architecture and design to the culinary concepts and poolside atmosphere, every element reflects a sense of curiosity, connection, and discovery.”

The signature restaurant, Ella on the Park, is set to open in late spring and will overlook Civic Center Park. The modern American concept will seat up to 150 guests, featuring smokehouse-inspired techniques and an adventurous, approachable menu. A 360-degree bar anchors the space, creating a lively setting for sunset cocktails and celebratory evenings, with brunch service slated to debut later in the year.

Common Ground Bistro offers a more relaxed, all-day dining experience serving American bistro-style fare alongside coffee, breakfast, and light bites. The property’s social energy extends outdoors to The Pool at Solaya, a pool deck designed for leisure and connection. Framed by cabanas and lounge seating, guests can spend the day in the sun or join a more energetic, social atmosphere fueled by bar and grill service.

The hotel also offers seven indoor and outdoor venues that accommodate everything from corporate meetings to weddings. A 3,500-square-foot outdoor lawn offers an open-air setting for celebrations under the sky, while a 2,600-square-foot ballroom provides a versatile indoor space with high ceilings and a modern layout. Managed by Dreamscape Hospitality, Hotel Solaya is poised to become a defining new presence in Old Town’s evolving hospitality landscape. For more: hyatt.com.
