Super Nintendo World Opens at Universal Studios Hollywood

SUPER NINTENDO WORLD is now open at Universal Studios Hollywood, inviting fans inside Mario’s universe with the all-new, innovative, immersive and highly-themed land.

Located within a newly expanded area of California’s Universal Studios, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD features fun for the whole family, including the groundbreaking “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” ride, thrilling and interactive activities within the Mushroom Kingdom, themed dining at the Toadstool Cafe and shopping at the 1-UP Factory retail store.

Guests can choose to elevate their experience with the fun, interactive Power-Up Band, which syncs with the free official Universal Studios Hollywood app to provide additional interactive elements throughout the brand new land.

The wearable wristband is available in six Nintendo character themes, including Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Toad and Princess Daisy, and groups users into teams based on the selected character. Users can compete against other teams to achieve the highest score throughout the day by collecting the most digital coins, which is tracked on the Universal Studios app and Checkpoint Screens located throughout the land.

Guests can also wear their Power-Up Band on the “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” ride to track digital coins collected, gauge their ranking against friends and family and attempt to beat their best scores over and over again. Other features of the Power-Up Band include the ability to unlock additional gameplay activities and experiences, achieve milestones and key challenges and enhance your meet and greet experiences with Nintendo characters.

The Power-Up Band is now available for purchase at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD retail shops located within the theme-park and on CityWalk.

At the opening celebration in Hollywood last week, Universal Parks & Resorts Chairman and CEO Mark Woodbury announced that Universal Studios also plans to open a Super Nintendo World at its Orlando resort. The Florida location will be part of the new Epic Universe park that is anticipated to open in 2025.
