SLS Beverly Hills Debuts New Look for 10-Year Anniversary

The SLS Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Beverly Hills has introduced its brand new $22 million look just in time for its 10-year anniversary in November. The revamp includes newly designed guestrooms and suites, new guest programming, Garden Terrace events space and innovative culinary and cocktail experiences.

Led by Dakota Development, Muzeo and Avenue Interior Design, guestrooms feature white oak, Carrara marble and neutral fabrics that juxtapose the signature oversized mirror panels and whimsical accents. A vibrant carpet welcomes guests, while oversized abstract prints and mirror-lined walls add fun elements. Handmade needlepoint pillows feature classic Picasso prints, which mirror the chalk drawings found in The Bazaar, the work of a Los Angeles chalk artist commissioned for the restaurant’s 2009 opening. New armoires have colorful illustrations inside of the SLS spirit animal, a mischievous monkey. Guests can take note of SLS-inspired recommendations for exploring the area by checking out the custom-made vintage map of Los Angeles above the media center. Additional new features include USB ports and outlets, high-speed Wi-Fi routers in every room, and 55-inch high definition SMART TVs, as well as an updated bathroom experience featuring a rainfall shower or oversized soaking tub, and enhanced ambient lighting. Hallways are now illuminated by custom-made light boxes with three distinct narratives, keeping in theme with the hotel’s ode to storytelling.

The renovation also includes the addition of two new suite categories, the Style Suite and the Storyseeker Suite, with private bedroom and living areas.

The recently debuted Somni is home to award-winning dining from Culinary Director Chef José Andrés, recipient of the 2018 James Beard “Humanitarian of the Year” award, and Creative Director Chef Aitor Zabala. The outlet, which was designed without corners, features a 10-seat chef’s counter with a revolving 20-plus course tasting menu, an exhibition kitchen and multi-colored animal bust sculptures by Pop Surrealist artist Okuda San Miguel.

“The next chapter of SLS Beverly Hills reflects the hotel’s unique location at the crossroads of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills: the epicenter of modern luxury, the entertainment industry and Southern California’s relaxed-yet-effervescent personality,” said General Manager Christophe Thomas. “Coupled with our immersive guest programming and destination-worthy fine dining, we’re excited to provide visitors with the quintessential L.A. experience and accommodations that foster comfort and relaxation, while inspiring adventure and creativity.”

As part of The Luxury Collection’s theme of celebrating each property, SLS Beverly Hills is unlike any other SLS hotel, with unique programming, design and amenities. Among the new offerings is Destination Discoveries, a bi-weekly tour that includes a brief history on the hotel followed by a walking excursion of the West 3rd Street neighborhood; the SLS Salute at Altitude Pool, a daily toasting ritual that includes the choice between the “Saint” (fresh-squeezed wellness shot) or the “Sinner” (bartender’s recipe of the day); and the Bazaar Signature Cocktail Tasting at Bar Centro, a weekly intro to the bar’s signature mixology program.
