Wellness is looking beyond traditional spa treatments and meditation sessions, with a growing number of destinations drawing inspiration from something much older: the moon. Across the globe, resorts and wellness retreats are incorporating lunar cycles, celestial rituals and astrology into experiences designed to reconnect guests with nature, encourage reflection and create a deeper sense of renewal.

Moon-Inspired Wellness in Los Cabos
At Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, the award-winning spa has built its wellness philosophy around the lunar cycle. The spa offers signature treatments representing the varying energies of the four lunar phases (new, full, waxing and waning) with the goal of aligning guests with the nature and enhancing well-being.
Guests are offered a “Moon face” potion to enjoy, with ingredients selected according to the current phase of the moon. The spa’s treatment menu then continues the lunar theme, creating an experience designed to engage the mind, body and spirit.
The property also incorporates Mexican folk healing traditions known as “curanderismo,” developed alongside local curanderos and shamans. These treatments use rituals, herbs and other traditional practices intended to cleanse and renew, adding a cultural dimension to the spa’s celestial approach.

Ancient Energy Meets Modern Wellness in Greece
On the Athens Riviera, Cape Sounio offers another distinctive setting for lunar-inspired wellness. Perched above the Temple of Poseidon, the Grecotel resort combines luxury with an ancient landscape already steeped in mythology and celestial history.
The resort’s setting makes the moon a natural part of the guest experience, particularly during the year’s notable lunar events. Cape Sounio is famed for luminous moonrises behind the Temple of Poseidon, creating an atmospheric backdrop for wellness rituals inspired by the energy associated with each full moon.
Through the Elevations of Wellness program, the resort offers signature rituals designed around those lunar moments. One example is the Blue Full Moon Ritual, which begins with Tibetan Yoga to awaken circulation before moving into conscious breathwork and laughter release intended to ease emotional tension.
The sequence is designed to help guests recalibrate and restore balance, incorporating movement, breath and mindfulness into an experience connected to the moon’s transformative symbolism.

Celestial Wellness Takes Over St. Barts
St. Barts has developed its own collection of celestial and esoteric wellness experiences, blending yoga, meditation, astrology, tarot and beachfront gatherings. At Eden Rock, resident wellness manager Flavia hosts a monthly full-moon restorative ritual at dusk on the oceanfront Yoga Deck. The experience incorporates restorative yoga, sound bath, meditation and journaling.
Elsewhere on the island, astrology takes a more playful turn at Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa’s Seven Stars Bar. The bar’s concept revolves around the zodiac, with 12 signature cocktails inspired by the characteristics of each zodiac sign. Each drink is served in bespoke glasses etched with zodiac symbols, while the tapas menu and presentation incorporate the imagery of an astrology wheel.
Once a month, the experience expands with Seven Stars by the Beach, combining beachfront rituals with workshops such as tarot readings, barefoot sand meditation, pendulum guidance and massage, followed by dinner under the stars.

St. Barts’ celestial offerings continue with monthly Intuition & Energy Evenings at l’Arawak, featuring tarot and oracle card readings, pendulum work, energy balancing and seated massage. At Gyp Sea Beach Club, Gyp Sea Luna marks each full moon with a four-part evening that includes a barefoot cocktail hour, a gastronomic dinner accompanied by a fire performance, live storytelling and a DJ set on the sand.
Whether the focus is meditation, movement, traditional healing or simply taking a moment to look up at the night sky, the moon is becoming more than scenery – it is becoming part of the experience.
