A typical day in my life includes… There’s never a typical day and it is always vastly different.  The two things that never change are starting off my day with a workout and meditation/prayer.  The rest of the day then takes on a variety of combinations:  meetings and coaching athletes/CEO’s, calls and interviews about my new book “The Art of Bouncing Back,” traveling to speaking engagements around the country, watching film and preparing sessions for my players, taping my “Awakening Greatness: Daily Dose of Dar” Fireside podcast, creating material for my newsletter and social media, attending sporting and company events for my clients, and a whole lot more. Everyday there is always a whirlwind of something new happening and I’m grateful for it all!

I was born… North Branford, CT

My favorite thing about Arizona… how easy it is to live here. It is the easiest city I’ve ever lived in with the best weather, so much to do, beautiful settings with the greatest people.

I’m listening to… Dave Matthews to Biggie to Ray LaMontagne to Old Dominion

My family… is a large Italian family from the east coast that “tawks” and loves BIG.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… Jesus, Kobe Bryant, Jimmy Fallon or Ryan Reynolds

One thing I cannot live without… Cinnamon Gum

When I was younger, I wanted to be… I knew I wanted to help people in a big way and be the voice for those who didn’t have one. I wanted to be the person who helped the underdog step into their greatness.

I’m inspired by…  humanities’ resiliency.  Resiliency leads to innovation, and the world’s best leaders know how to recover quickly, bounce back, and not let life keep them down.

The one person who motivates me is… rather than a who, it is my faith that motivates me.  Waking up every day to refocus on my personal mission of awakening greatness in myself and others – to touch and influence a billion lives for the better is my goal.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be… better and more affordable healthcare.

The perfect day would be… not being on the schedule.

My first job was… working at Dairy Queen

My favorite escape… being at the beach and being able to hit up an exercise class plus have some relaxing time at a spa.

My life… is very fulfilling, crazy busy, purpose driven, and a 30 for 30 in the making.

I’m currently working on… my new book titled, “The Art of Bouncing Back: Find Your Flow To Thrive at Work and in Life.” With apologies to Benjamin Franklin, there are actually three things in life that are certain: Death, taxes, and the fact that sometimes, life will throw you a gut punch. I have seen a fair share of calamitous situations in my 25+ year career, from major league players suffering slumps and season-ending injuries to executives floundering professionally and experiencing financial devastation―plus my own setbacks like three strokes before the age of 45 and the loss of both of my parents.

As a mental skills coach whose clients have included professional athletes, top CEOs, and world leaders, I specialize in helping the best of the best get up and get going again after suffering serious setbacks. In The Art of Bouncing Back, I share these proven strategies and techniques for the first time ever to ensure the obstacles and setbacks everyone faces quickly morph into setups for your next success.

Always… lead with excellence, love with a servant’s heart, and be kind to others.

Never… treat anyone less than because everyone matters.

Favorite Quote… “Greatness is not by what you accomplish but how you inspire people next to you.” -Kobe Bryant

Biggest Dream…to be a person people are consistently inspired by. It is my goal to impact, motivate, and empower 1 billion people to pursue greatness whether they know me on a personal, professional or social level.

My Pet Peeve(s)… Laziness, lack of integrity, smoking, people with low EQ, mean people.
