A typical day in my life includes…

wow, every day is a little bit different but typically starts with coffee! Lots of coffee! Paired with getting ready for work while my wife bustles around getting the three older kids fed and ready for school, loading them in to the car and dropping them off en route to my Chandler office. Then, I switch to business mode and crush out some emails, work on the various tasks of the day surrounding loans, banking, the mentoring of my staff and the fair amount of non-profit work I do, especially this year as president of the Chandler Compadres. If I’m not in the office, often times I find myself out and about on the town meeting with customers, looking at prospective real estate transactions, establishing new business relationships or attending meetings with the non-profit groups. When the business day concludes, I almost always make a pit stop at the gym for what I affectionately refer to as my counseling. Finally, I get to head home for a family dinner, stories and snuggles with the kiddos. Once they fall asleep, it’s time for a glass of wine and the couch with my wife to catch up on the day or our favorite TV show at the moment. Can I get to the end of the day right now please?!

I was born…

in Denver, Colorado where I spent the first 30 years of my life. Most of my family still lives up there and while I enjoy visiting, Arizona is home and I now spend my days trying to convince said family to move down here.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

to keep it simple, it’s the quality of life. Arizona has great weather in my opinion, even when it’s over 100. It has readily available outdoor activities that you can do all year long plus, it is very affordable when compared to many parts of the country. I love the giving spirit of Arizona.

I’m listening to…

I listen to mostly everything! From Carrie Underwood to Metallica, Ariana Grande to U2, I love it all.

My family…

is busy, loud, incredibly fun and full of love! We enjoy life work hard, and cherish our time together.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

probably Warren Buffet – he is one of the greatest investment minds in history and has the most amazing, generous heart. He’s pledged most of his fortune to charity and has gotten his friends to do the same. He is simply an amazing person.

One thing I cannot live without…

is the gym a thing? I would be intolerable to most people if I didn’t go to the gym. Ask my wife…

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

oddly enough, I think I wanted to be a banker. I had a suit case full of play money that I carried around when I was five and never would let anyone but myself be the banker during a game of Monopoly.

I’m inspired by…

The Chandler Compadres – this group of men does tremendous work in our community supporting groups who directly impact the daily lives of youth in our neighborhoods. I’m consistently amazed at how a group of 40 active members can do such amazing things with absolutely no paid staff. Last year, we gave over $1 million to children’s charities in the East Valley.

The one person who motivates me is…

my wife! She works so hard for the family that I can’t help but work hard for them as well.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

I would most certainly try to change the circle of poverty. I grew up in a low income household to blue collar parents but through education and the help of great mentors, I’ve been able to become successful. I think if we can expose impoverished kids to a pathway out and support them in that endeavor, all boats will rise and we can help families improve their quality of life. That’s why I’m so proud to be involved with the Chandler Compadres and the groups they support.

The perfect day would be…

beach…family…cocktails…steak…sleep!

My first job was…

when I was 14, I worked with my mom at an RV Repair shop doing all sorts of odd things. One of my favorite was using a machete to chop down overgrown weeds in the storage yard. Probably pretty dangerous giving a boy a large sword but I survived!

My favorite escape…

Laguna Beach, California with or without kids. It’s always the best quick escape.

My life…

is crazy but super fulfilling with a ton of love surrounding it. It’s a work in progress and often times stressful and difficult, but overall I’m blessed.

I’m currently working on…

getting ready for our 2019 Chandler Compadres Golf Tournament coming up on April 12th amongst all my other business-related stuff.

Always…

follow the golden rule!

Never…

judge a book by its cover!

Favorite Quote…

tough one but since no one is here to tell me otherwise, I’ll pick two: “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” – Michael Jordan and “Begin each day with a grateful heart”.

Biggest Dream…

to see my children become great people and the best version of themselves.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

lack of personal accountability in today’s society followed closely by driving slowly in the fast lane.
