A typical day in my life includes…

oh boy…no day is typical! There are, however, two things that happen every day regardless of what I have ongoing. The first is coffee. I have to have my coffee first thing to get me moving. Our coffee pot is consistently set to brew at 6:15am and once the aromas hit my nose, I am out of bed! The second is feeding our rambunctious dogs – we have two Italian Greyhounds, Warren and Queenie, and they love their breakfast more than I think they love me! When those two things are completed, I usually work to catch up on watering plants, checking emails and getting ready for the day’s activities. If it’s Tuesday or Wednesday you can find me teaching a cycle class at CycleBar Scottsdale 101. If I am not there, you might find me perched in a coffee shop marketing and managing The Ollie, our short term rental property in Scottsdale. More so, lately, I’ve been working on building out the brand for my new real estate ventures. I also sit on the board of directors and volunteer for the Foothills Caring Corps. which is a nonprofit offering assistance to our elderly neighbors so I am often in meetings or working on tasks for that organization!

I was born…

in Mesa, Arizona!

My favorite thing about Arizona…

having been born here and then moving to Boston for 8 years of my life and education, the thing that I missed most about Arizona was (aside from the obviously great weather), how nice the people are here and how amazing it is to have open space and horizons that you can actually see.

I’m listening to…

with my cycle classes, I listen to a lot of music. This week I have been in a total Oh Wonder and Lady Bri phase.

My family…

I live in Cave Creek with my husband of almost two years, Sky, and we have our two little doggos, Warren and Queenie. I am lucky enough to have my mom about five minutes away who raises my 5-year-old nephew. I talk to my mom on the phone about five times a day and we get to spend a lot of time with both of them.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

that’s a tough one but I think I would have to say Ellen DeGeneres. It’s hard for me not to be drawn to someone who has such a large platform, has faced so much adversity and really does a lot of great things for our world! The fact that she says “be kind to one another” after every single show speaks to her character and what she’s really trying to accomplish. So yes… Ellen!

One thing I cannot live without…

learning! I can get pretty bored when things start to go stagnant. So, rather than going crazy, I try to seek out new ideas or methods of doing things even if it’s simply working in a new coffee shop. I think I would actually die without new experiences.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

believe it or not, a marine biologist! I think I had my first saltwater fish tank when I was maybe 12. I have always loved the ocean and its creatures.

I’m inspired by…

I find a lot of inspiration in people who are comfortable with doing their own thing and being themselves. The world we live in is clouded with a constant fear of judgment and comparison. When someone really just does what inspires them and what makes them happy, I think that’s pretty amazing.

The one person who motivates me is…

I get a ton of motivation from my mom. She has always been there for me and has always offered great advice without pushing her opinion on me. If I had a dollar for every time she said: “you always make good decisions, I know whatever you choose will work out”, I would be very wealthy!

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

I would try to change the fact that people are becoming less social. I don’t think that people communicate like they used to. I love to talk to people and don’t mind striking up conversations with a stranger. It’s always amazing to me what you can find in common with someone you thought was totally different than you. I think if we reminded ourselves of that and weren’t so afraid of it, a lot of the issues we see in this world could be resolved in a way that would make the majority of people happy. Communication is key!

The perfect day would be…

some of my favorite days are when my husband and I take our dogs for a morning walk, go to a workout class (probably cycle), get brunch somewhere out on the town and have a relaxing evening at home. There are a lot of distractions lately so any days where we get to just piddle around are golden.

My first job was…

when I was in middle school I started a pet sitting business. I had some staple clients in my mom’s neighborhood who had two Rottweiler’s and a Shar-Pei.

My favorite escape…

we love to travel and I tend to thrive in places that have water, good shopping, and good food. If I could think of escaping to one place right now it would probably be Santa Barbara, CA. If traveling is not an option I have a fun hammock out on our patio where I escape for little naps when the weather is nice!

My life…

never stops! Sky calls me the “energizer bunny”. I think that kind of sums it up.

I’m currently working on…

I just got my real estate license this summer and joined My Home Group in Scottsdale recently. I have been working on my business plan and marketing to get things up and running which has had me head down lately. I am meeting a lot of really cool people and am excited to see where it takes me.

Always…

have a sense of humor and remember you have the power to change your world.

Never…

lose sight of where you came from no matter where you are currently at.

Favorite Quote…

“When you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everyone will respect you.” – Lao Tzu

Biggest Dream…

right now I am dreaming of starting a family. In order to do that, we will need to adopt. So, my biggest dream is to be a father!

My Pet Peeve(s)…

I really hate when dishes are left in the sink!
