A typical day in my life includes…

three or four snoozes on the alarm clock, then a power minute in the shower before I book it to teach indoor cycling. With an energy drink in hand (preferred over coffee any day!) and playlist blasting on the way in, I am singing along and getting pumped to lead an inspiring, challenging and soulful class – typically sharing a little peek of what’s to come in my IG story. When I am not teaching, I am usually with my husband binge watching a Netflix or HBO series and eating nachos, or a burger, or nachos. Maybe even some tacos. Did I say nachos, already?

I was born…

in Mesa, Arizona; but grew up in Flagstaff and lived there through college. Go Lumberjacks!

My favorite thing about Arizona…

is the weather. I love living in the valley and getting nearly year around sunshine and heat – this black girl magic is fueled by Vitamin D! It’s also refreshing to know that we are only a couple of hours away from beautiful fall and winter weather up north; but let’s be real…I’m not going anywhere near snow any time soon.

I’m listening to…

everything under the sun. My love of teaching has inspired me to get creative with the music I play and share with my riders. Let’s be real, though…Drake, Rihanna, Beyoncé and some old school Michael Jackson make frequent appearances in every playlist; and you can bet your last dollar that I’ll never play Country. Sorry, not sorry. Fun Fact: My husband and I drop everything and sing-a-long to Demi’s track whenever it randomly comes on and he will definitely kill me for sharing that.

My family…

is big and bold and the creator of the person you see today – a strong, confident, spiritual, get your hands dirty kind of woman. I have a twin sister – the ying to my yang – and four brothers – the kind of men you want in your life. My mother and late father were the hardest working people I knew and navigated raising all of us with more ease than I ever gave them credit for.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

can I pick two people!? The Obama’s. Any couple that can navigate the country’s most important job while maintaining a fun, playful and loving relationship in direct public view is a couple I MUST be around.

One thing I cannot live without…

sleep. Period.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

a dancer. True story: I would record MTV music videos (think Britney Spears, N*Sync, Janet Jackson…all the hot late 90’s artists) and learn the dance moves to perfection. My obsession with this went as far as Riverdance performances that aired on PBS! Yes, I said Riverdance!

I’m inspired by…

bold, authentic, cool and humble people. The kind of people that are great at their craft, good-hearted, drop a good and meaningful F*Bomb now and then and push me to be bigger and better with each encounter.

The one person who motivates me is…

my husband. For the first time in my life, I am working towards big, hairy and sometimes scary goals with someone by my side. He challenges me to think creatively and positively, calls me out on my B.S. and sometimes pushes me off the cliff when I’m too scared to take the leap on my own. He’s also a free therapist and makes sure our fridge is stocked at all times. Proof that I know how to pick ‘em!

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

hate. I wish we could live in a world where more understanding and love was practiced instead of passing judgement and hate on people who don’t live and think like we do.

The perfect day would be…

one that leaves me feeling grateful for each encounter and each lesson learned.

My first job was…

at Burger King when I was 15 years old. Nothing exciting there, but it was important for us to start working at a young age to earn the things we wanted.

My favorite escape…

is at the beach or pool with a cocktail (or two) in my hand and some great music playing.

My life…

is a constant work in progress. But, as it is now…I couldn’t be more in tune with who I am, what I want and where I want to be.

I’m currently working on…

trusting the universe and believing that each move I make and each situation I am involved in is for a greater good that will bless me and those around me.

Always…

say “yes” to an opportunity to grow, see or try something new. You can always bow out later, but the initial invitation may never come again.

Never…

think you are unworthy of greatness. Every one deserves it, but most won’t work for it.

Favorite Quote…

God placed the best things in life on the other side of fear” – Will Smith.

Biggest Dream…

is to never stop growing, learning and being inspired. I also want to win the lottery and have “stupid” money that will allow my tribe and I to give back, explore the world and experience everything under the sun.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

people who have an excuse for everything. There’s always a solution. Find it.
