A typical day in my life includes…

what I love about my job is that no day has the same routine. I usually start my day off with a strong cup of coffee and putting on my favorite podcast while I am getting ready for the day. I spend time checking in on my personal and client job sites, working on designs for upcoming renovations and always looking for a new investment. You can sometimes find me working on my computer in my favorite coffee shop or at the gym in my spare time.

I was born…

in Littleton, Colorado, and moved to Arizona when I was 6 years old.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

the weather and amazing restaurants. I love Mexican food, and we have a lot of great Mexican restaurants here! There is also nothing better than leaving a freezing restaurant or movie and getting blasted with our hot AZ sunshine. I think to myself, “Ahh this is why I love Arizona!”

I’m listening to…

so many songs! I love music. I listen to Country, Christian and Pop. When I’m not listening to music, I will have on a business or real estate podcast. A few of my favorite podcasts are How I Built This and Bigger Pockets.

My family…

is incredibly supportive! I feel so lucky to have been able to bring my Mom and Sister into my business. My sister, Mahlia Nicole Interiors, works with me on client projects and brings our vision to life with her amazing 3D renderings. My Mom is my realtor and represents me on the purchase and sales of my personal investment properties.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

my dad! Not a day goes by that I don’t miss his words of advice, encouragement, his “dad jokes” and most importantly his unconditional love. I would give anything to have just one more dinner with him.

One thing I cannot live without…

my faith. There are been many rough times where my faith is what got me through. Believing that this is all part of God’s plan for me, even at times when it doesn’t make sense. My faith is also what lead me to quit my “day job” and start Beckmann House full time.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

exactly where I am right now! For as long as I can remember I have had an entrepreneurial sprit, and tried starting numerous different businesses throughout the years. I always knew that I wanted to be my own boss, however I never imagined that would consist of owning my own real estate investment and design company. I am very thankful to be where I currently am with a business that I am so passionate about.

I’m inspired by…

the many entrepreneurs that I know and watching them on their journey to success.

The one person who motivates me is…

there are many people in my life who motivate me! My mom, sister and my boyfriend’s family play a huge part in motivating me and helping me find motivation. I also have friends who love bouncing new ideas off of each other and motiving one another to take risks and try new ideas.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

the way people see themselves. It is so easy to be your toughest critic and to only see your imperfections, but we all have incredible gifts to offer. If people would start recognizing their own amazing talents rather than a constant comparison to what others have or are doing, I think we would see even more empowerment between peers and thriving small businesses.

The perfect day would be…

a day trip to some place new with family or friends, trying new restaurants and sipping espresso while getting design inspiration from wherever we are!

My first job was…

at Paradise Bakery when I was 15. I worked after school and every weekend saving up for my first car. It wasn’t fun at the time missing parties and spending time with my friends, but I am thankful to my parents for teaching me the art of saving and working hard for what you want. This is one of the most beneficial qualities that I could have for real estate investing.

My favorite escape…

anywhere, I love traveling! Every year my Mom takes my sister and I to a new place that we have never been. Our most recent trip was a cruise where we went to Russia, Germany, Finland, Estonia, Norway, Denmark and Sweden! I’ve been to 19 states and 13 countries.

My life…

is amazing. I am incredibly grateful for the support from clients, family and friends over this past year while I continue to grow my business. I try to live my life in an optimistic manner as much as possible. In tough situations, I know that God is teaching me something and I usually walk away learning more than a situation or project that went incredibly smooth. I enjoy learning new things and constantly trying to be the best version of myself.

I’m currently working on…

closing on a house that we just completed an addition and full renovation on earlier this year, renovating my second rental property and five client projects that include a master bathroom remodel, an amazing craft room, an office and wet bar, a guest bathroom and a full house remodel.

Always…

start before you are ready. I have applied this in every aspect of my business. If you are constantly waiting for everything to be perfect, you will always find a reason why you are not ready to start. The opportunity will pass you by while you are still getting ready for it.

Never…

think your dreams are too small or too big, and never let someone’s option of your dream stop you from making them happen.

Favorite Quote…

“Be the role model you needed when you were younger.”

Biggest Dream…

I have a lot of them! A few of my biggest dreams are to have my own line of products in the home improvement space, to own a number of commercial buildings and to do a lot of good in the world with the profits that I make.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

people who don’t think they can (insert whatever that may be). When you change your mindset think “I can’t do that YET” or “HOW can I do that” amazing things will happen.
