Married/Single: Single

Kids: My two rescue dogs, Pepper + Chance

City you live in: Scottsdale

A typical day in my life includes…

coffee and playtime or runs/walks with my dogs, some days yoga, working at my studio space in Old Town pouring candles, packing orders, crafting new ideas and working on the business, then happy hour with friends, dinner with my parents, or good ol’ fashioned couch time with wine, Netflix and my pups.

I was born…

at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Phoenix, AZ.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

is our monsoons and the smell of the desert after it rains. I am working so hard to try and capture this vibe in a candle, and when I do, I promise to make it available!

I’m listening to…

Crime Junkie and just about every other true crime podcast I can get my hands on (suggestions welcome).

My family…

are my best friends and biggest supporters. I’m super fortunate that they are mostly located in Arizona too and my parents both live within 10 minutes of me.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

someone who would turn out to be my future husband.

One thing I cannot live without…

is dogs.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

someone who lived near the ocean and worked with dolphins and sea life.

I’m inspired by…

the little things, unexpected beauty, and gestures of kindness and giving to others.

The one person who motivates me is…

just one?! Can’t pick! My parents and best friends who hold me accountable and push me to be courageous, confident, and decisive in my life and business.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

opening more peoples’ eyes to the wonder and greatness of rescue and shelter dogs, and how adopting and/or fostering them changes your life for the better.

The perfect day would be…

like 70 degrees out, spent walking dogs at the shelter with friends, and then grabbing cold drinks and good food on the patio of a local spot like OHSO or The Churchill.

My first job was…

working at Hot Topic at 16 years old… that was a hoot.

My favorite escape…

is simple! I love cooking with wine in hand and good company, where I get to work with my hands, relax, laugh a lot, and just be myself.

My life…

is a work in progress even at 34, but it’s pretty wonderful and I feel fortunate every day that I get to live it!

I’m currently working on…

a line of Desert Southwest inspired candles that evoke the magic of our state. Can’t wait for you to see and smell them!

Always…

listen to your gut and follow the things that nag at your heart.

Never…

withhold a compliment or kind gesture you feel like giving, even to or for a stranger.

Favorite Quote…

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” This quote from Margaret Mead embodies the mission behind my business, and my life… I know that small, consistent gestures can affect actual big change for good, and that’s all I’m hoping to do while I’m here.

Biggest Dream…

is expanding my business bigger than I can even imagine it right now: enough to create jobs, offer more events and collaborations, perhaps have a studio foster dog and wine bar attached as well, and give back larger and larger chunks of donations to our local rescues and shelters. That’s not too much to ask, is it?!

My Pet Peeve(s)…

people that walk suuuper slow right in the middle of the grocery aisle so you can’t get around them, and who leave their grocery carts in parking spaces… actually, this is probably the same person.
