A typical day in my life includes…

waking up, putting my “face” on, making my girls breakfast and speeding off to work. My work day is never quite the same, which is why I enjoy what I do so much. On any given day, I am working on events (we host some incredible concerts with artists like BØRNS, along with fun, family events—on average a total of 390 events a year), partnerships, copywriting, advertising efforts, social media strategy, TV segments and corresponding fashion and product pulls, photoshoots, tenant meetings and more. Then, it’s home for dinner with my family, bath time for my girls, and possibly some hot yoga for me before a bit of a book or some Netflix unwind time.

I was born…

here in sunny Phoenix at the same hospital where I delivered my two girls. P.S. I am rare fourth generation Arizona native on my mother’s side.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

is the desert. It has a special, serene and somewhat stark beauty that as a girl I didn’t appreciate as much as I do now. Being outdoors boosts my psyche and makes me truly happy. I love that, in Arizona, we are a relatively short drive away from varied landscapes and cooler climates. A few hours behind the wheel and you can be up in the pines or even beachside.

I’m listening to…

my old school iPod on random (which I know totally dates me). I’m never without a running soundtrack. From the moment I wake, I turn on tunes, and my office is always blaring with beats during the workday. I have over 12,000 songs with primarily a mix of rock, alternative, indie, electronic and classic rock tunes. Bjork, Beck, Justice, Wild Nothing, Lou Reed, Cut Copy, Jimi Hendrix, Queens of the Stone Age, Small Black, Chromeo, Chevelle, Arcade Fire, Talking Heads and Tame Impala all came on today.

My family…

I am an identical twin and am fortunate to have always had a built-in best friend. I am also lucky to have met and married my high school sweetheart. We’ve grown up together, and no one knows or understands me better. My daughters are such a gift, although I am certain they are going to give me a run for my money. Both are strong-willed, smart and independent, which will serve them well when they grow into confident and capable women, but I’ll likely need yoga, the spa, deep breaths and wine to survive their teenage years.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

it’s a toss-up. Prince or David Bowie. What incredible musical geniuses.

One thing I cannot live without

makeup in general (I’m a beauty junkie), but most certainly mascara.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

in the fashion industry. As a young girl, I loved reading fashion magazines and still do.

I’m inspired by…

creative and confident people who have the will and ability to bring their visions to life.

The one person who motivates me is…

my mom. She is the most assiduous person I know. Her work ethic is unparalleled, and something I constantly seek to emulate. Plus, she has the most incredible vocabulary. She’s basically a walking Webster’s Dictionary, and I love learning new words from her on the daily.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

eliminating extreme poverty and food insecurity.

The perfect day would be…

hiking somewhere stunning with my husband and my girls. A close second is a day filled with shopping and glasses of rosé.

My first job was…

selling coffee, scones and other breakfast wares on weekend mornings at Kohnie’s Coffee, a small coffee shop that used to be in Arcadia.

My favorite escape…

up in the mountains under a starry sky.

My life…

is on an open path that could lead anywhere.

I’m currently working on…

Umbrella Pop, a photo-worthy art installation at Tempe Marketplace, where we have hoisted hundreds of umbrellas high above our walkways to create a kaleidoscope of color and provide a shady escape from the blazing summer sun. Weather and wind permitting, we’ll have Umbrella Pop on view through August. I am also actively booking and planning our fall ROCK IT UP concerts—we’ve secured Banners and lovelytheband to play our District Stage this October. And, pulling summer and Fourth of July fashions for two upcoming TV appearances, just to name a few current tasks on my to-do.

Always…

reach for the stars and remember to say “thank you.”

Never…

say “never.”

Favorite Quote…

“I think I can; I think I can.” – The Little Engine That Could

Biggest Dream…

travel the world over and soak in all the sights, cultures, people and places.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

people who are not generous.
