Age: 50

Married/Single: Single

Kids: one, Amare

City you live in: Phoenix

A typical day in my life includes

I wake up at 5:30 am to enjoy an hour of quiet with coffee before the madness begins. I absolutely love my job & my organization, thus I am excited to get to work every day. It is usually a day of meetings, trying to find some quiet time to answer emails and work on one of our fundraisers. I get home in time to grab my son, drive-through Starbucks and get across town to his basketball practice. We get home around 9:00 and then I like to spend 1:1 time with Amare before going to bed and doing it all over again.

I was born…

at Good Sam in Phoenix. At three months old, I was adopted by two wonderful parents.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

it does not matter how big this city gets, I always run into people that I know or people that know the same people I know.

I’m listening to…

Jenny McCarthy on Sirius… when no kids are in the car.

My family…

is everything to me. As a 24/7/365 single mother, I cannot imagine my life without the love & support of my family. My son is my world, and with my busy career, I am intentional about spending good quality time together.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

living: my son. Deceased: my grandfather.

One thing I cannot live without…

no question that would be my son. The second would be Starbucks!

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

a Cruise Director (I watched Love Boat all of the time!)

I’m inspired by…

people who exude generosity.

The one person who motivates me is…

my professional coach, Katie Pushor. She is amazing!

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

to create a society that believes in taking care of each other. Where every person has equal access to quality healthcare, food, shelter, and clothing regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, socio-economic status, or country of origin.

The perfect day would be…

a day at the spa, followed by watching my son play in a basketball tournament.

My first job was…

McDonalds. I came from a family that impressed upon me the importance of a good work ethic, so I was working the day I turned 16.

My favorite escape…

a cruise anywhere in the Eastern Caribbean. As a Pisces, I am calmed by water and I love being on a vacation where I do not have to drive, cook, or clean.

My life…

is blessed. The people that I work with, most of whom are full-time volunteers inspire me daily. I love the work that we do because it makes such a big difference in the lives of the children/families that we serve. I have an amazing family and friends that are like family. I am grateful every day for the life that I have and it inspires me to work hard to help others.

I’m currently working on…

expanding our Operation School Bell Program by launching 2 new Delivering Dreams buses – mobile clothing centers that bring new school clothing to low-income children across the Greater Phoenix area.

Always…

treat others with kindness.

Never…

forget to be humble.

Favorite Quote

“A life not lived for others is not a life.” – Mother Teresa

Biggest Dream…

to watch my son play professional basketball one day!

My Pet Peeve(s)…

when people drive slow in the fast lane.
