AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?
SB: No, I spent 8 years in corporate America before creating my first side business while maintain my current role. Then, even went on to another organization before leaving my career 9 years later. I finally realized I was acting my position as an entrepreneur and I might as well jump in with both feet. The security I thought I felt in corporate America was actually holding me back from my full potential to help other business owners.

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?
SB: What a question! I love the freedom, innovation, solution focus, networking and collaboration! Yet, If I was going to just pick one I would select freedom. It’s the freedom to create products and services which help others achieve their goals. The freedom to chose who I want to network and collaborate with on projects. The freedom to increase or decrease my personal growth based on my needs and the needs of the business.

AZF: How do you feel best supported?
SB: I feel best supported when I take care of my health first and then take care of our family and businesses. When I feel great and confident it pours into everything else I do.

AZF: What is your “life motto”?
SB: Share your story to help the person right behind you.

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
SB: Riding our reining horses with my daughter, Reese. Then coming back to my husband and son, taking all of us to a movie and a ridiculously delicious dinner with amazing wine and conversation.

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst of the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
SB: My motivation has changed over the years. In the past, I could rely on my grit and tenacity to push through the challenges. Now I focus on two thought processes. First, I move out my time horizon for success. if I never give up I will always succeed. Second, I focus on experiences from my past where I could not see the light at the end of the tunnel yet somehow I always found it. I am a huge believer that our past holds out greatest strength and its our opportunity to leverage those experience when we need additional strength.

AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
SB: Guard your heart. Surround yourself with people who cheer you on when you win and help redirect you when you fall. This means letting go of some of your closest friends and family…I know this first hand.
