MS: Do the best that you can with what you have been given today.
AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?
MS: Freedom! From setting my own schedule, time, client base, ideas, you name it – if you can dream it up, you can certainly find a way to make it happen. Having the freedom and flexibility to invent and deliver our client outcomes in a way that makes sense for us is the most cherished thing about being a business owner.
AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst of the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
MS: My brain is always thinking in the future, being able to envision the path has been instrumental in navigating challenges. My motivation for the pace and the volume of work stems from small daily practices that help keep me mentally healthy. Keeping my mind positive is imperative to staying motivated.
AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
MS: Don’t wait for perfect. Just start. It will evolve as you evolve.
AZF: How do you feel best supported?
MS: I’m a quality time kind of gal so my cup is always filled when I get to spend time with my favorite people.
AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?
MS: I have been a small business owner in one way or another since I was a young kid! Car Washes count, right!? I was blessed beyond measure with an incredible career in marketing and advertising prior to embarking into Interior Design. I decided to start something new and the rest got carried along with me, once you catch the bug — there’s no looking back!
AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
MS: My perfect Saturday involves having no plans and doing whatever I feel like from one moment to the next. It must start with coffee.
