A typical day in my life includes… wake up somewhere between 5:30 and 6 a.m., get my coffee, kiss my wife, open the computer and on to emails. Catch up on the financial news of the day while starting my day so I’m tuned into what the Fed is doing that might affect my day or present questions from clients. I’m always current to all financial markets because I must be able to advise clients with assets where every move can affect their decisions. Not just whether they buy or sell their home(s), but also how it might affect other parts of their financial portfolios. Knowledge is power and people rely on me to keep them informed.

I was born… St. Paul, Minn., but we lived in Forest Lake, Minn.

My favorite thing about Arizona… The beauty of the desert especially the Canyon Lands, arid climate and the ability to live and spend as much time outdoors as possible year-round.

I’m listening to… Fox Business News

My family… is the most important thing in my life!

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… Elon Musk. He’s so smart, and I believe when you can innovate on so many different levels like he has, there’s so much I could learn over a dinner conversation.

One thing I cannot live without…. My wife, Nikki. She completes me. Don’t mean to be goofy by quoting Jerry McGuire, but that statement says it all.

When I was younger, I wanted to be… a professional football player. Unfortunately, at a certain point I got tired of injuries and healing. That told me it was time to move on.

I’m inspired by…. People who overcome great odds and become successful when everything seems against the possibility of succeeding in life. I don’t just mean monetarily. Whatever success means to them in their lives, and they overcome great odds to achieve it. That’s inspiring.

The one person who motivates me is….  my wife. She wakes up happy and in motion and doesn’t stop until her head hits the pillow. It motivates me to try and keep up with her. She is a dynamo!

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…. to let everyone on earth see that we are all different and have different views and opinions, but we are all the same in that we are individuals who want to live a good life.

The perfect day would be….  waking up early, getting on a dive boat in the Caribbean, going to a couple of bucket list dive locations for two dives, getting back by noon to meet my wife on the beach for lunch totally relaxed from diving and napping in a hammock on the beach. Then going and getting a shower and catching a sunset sail around the islands with d’oeuvres with champagne and then dinner back on the beach.

My first job was… at a McDonald’s flipping burgers and becoming a swing manager within a couple of months.

My favorite escape….  Going for a long motorcycle ride up in the Canyon Lands and feeling like you’re riding in these beautiful rock formations and canyons and lands that you can only see in the Southwest, and the feeling of freedom of not being enclosed in a car or truck. As close as I’ll ever get to feeling like the cowboys who founded the great West.

Bio-on yourself/company:  I grew up in Forest Lake, Minn. which was the largest farming community in the state. I ended up meeting someone that drew me out to Los Angeles where I played football at a Top 10 nationally-ranked community college and then went on to play at UNLV  briefly, before injuries hampered my playing career.

I then moved back to California and a friend said, “Why don’t you get your real estate license?” The rest, as they say, is history. Within three years I was the top producer in one of the Big 3 offices on the westside of L.A. After more than 30 years of being a top producer in the Sunset Strip and Beverly Hills on the westside of L.A. my wife, Nikki, and I decided to relocate to Phoenix.

In 2014, I obtained my broker’s license in Arizona. In 2016 my wife and I built a home and moved our primary residence to Biltmore Heights in Phoenix. Just recently (in March 2023) I joined The Agency Scottsdale that was founded and is owned by a couple of friends. Mauricio Umansky and Billy Rose came from L.A. to start The Agency and it has exploded into an agent-centric innovative real estate brokerage growing leaps and bounds both nationally and internationally now – because they’re cutting edge in both technology and in their approach to marketing. I’m off and running in a new market with The Agency Scottsdale!
