Married/Single: married to the beautiful Sarah Tripp!

City you live in: Scottsdale, AZ via San Francisco, CA!

A typical day in my life includes…

waking up each morning to quickly enjoy a fresh glass of celery juice before sitting down at my laptop and getting straight to work. Emails, editing photos and video, writing…my Macbook is the center of my creative universe! (Other than my gorgeous wife of course.) For my health and sanity, I’ve learned to pull myself away from my laptop in the afternoon and get out to exercise. I am an avid runner and basketball player. Whether I’m training for a half marathon or getting ready for my next city league game, there’s so many opportunities to be active here in AZ and that’s what I love about it. When I get home in the late afternoon, I’ll finish up whatever projects I was working on and then go out to dinner with Sarah before settling in for an evening of cozying up and watching our favorite show. Each day is a little different and each day I’m living the dream!

I was born…

in a flash of pure creative enlightenment under the unicorn sky.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

the desert money lifestyle! After living in San Francisco the past several years, we moved out here to enjoy the wide open spaces, sunny weather, and grab our slice of the American dream with our new home that’s currently being built. Arizona has everything you need and a gorgeous backdrop to enjoy it all. Now I see why people who live here never leave! I truly believe Arizona is our country’s hidden gem. You can’t beat the quality of life here.

I’m listening to…

my work hours are filled with cool jazz and instrumental new age music. I’ve been listening to jazz music since I was a boy and have always enjoyed relaxing jazz piano. Some of my favorite jazz pianists are Dave Brubeck, Vince Guaraldi, and Kenny Barron. If I’m working out, I listen to a lot of hip hop. Drake, Macklemore, Kanye West, and G-Eazy are among my favorites.

My family…

is the most positive support system I could ever ask for! I was raised to dream impossible dreams and be crazy enough to pursue them. I’m so thankful for my dad for being the most positive, eccentric, and enthusiastic man I’ve ever met. He instilled that sense of creativity and wonder in myself and my siblings and it has led us all to great things.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

my wife! Who else would I want to share my dinner with?!

One thing I cannot live without…

my Macbook. It’s actually hard to quantify how important this laptop is to me and my dreams. Countless hours of creative projects exist on this hard drive. I protect it with my life!

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

a pro basketball player! I spent the first 21 years of my life obsessively dedicated to the game of basketball. When I was 13 years old I was one of 10 kids chosen to attend a basketball camp with Shaquille O’Neal and I beat him in a game of 1v1. I was an All-State and All-Star basketball selection in high school, and then went on to play in junior college. Basketball was my life for so long, and I still enjoy it to this day.

I’m inspired by…

ideas! I love hearing what people are thinking, talking about fun, new ideas and brainstorming on how they could be reality! Small minds talk about other people, great minds talk about ideas!

The one person who motivates me is…

myself! I’ve always been a self-starter. I am naturally a very ambitious person because I believe I have a creative spark to share with the world!

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

that every child would grow up in a positive and supportive home environment. In college I worked at a group home for teenagers who came from tough backgrounds and had issues with substance abuse. Most of their issues were related to how they were raised and the never-ending cycle of family dysfunction and drug abuse. I wish every child could have a good headstart in life by having family and friends that look after them and encourage them in their dreams.

The perfect day would be…

playing basketball in the morning with a group of my favorite NBA stars and celebrities, enjoying an afternoon of spa treatments with my wife, and then a fine dining experience with all my friends and family in the evening!

My first job was…

working with my dad who owned his own landscaping and construction business throughout my childhood. My formative years were filled with Saturdays mowing lawns, raking dirt, and cleaning up construction sites.

My favorite escape…

a tropical vacation. No cell service, just lots of relaxing in a beautiful hotel room, great food, reading a good book…and taking photos of my wife in her bikini of course!

My life…

is blessed beyond measure! Every day I wake up and thank God for the incredible life I get to live with the love of my life by my side. I am fortunate to be living out dreams and doing what I love each day. All I ever wanted was to be creative for a living and have the freedom to do what sets my heart on fire each day. Dream big and never stop working because you can live your best life if you’re willing to do what it takes!

I’m currently working on…

so many things! My second book, a children’s book, a music video, my new agency Tripp Creative, designing our new home, and building every facet of the Team Tripp empire!

Always…

believe in your voice as a creative. You are unique, you have something valuable to offer, and you’ll never get where you want to go by imitating others. Be yourself unapologetically and people will be drawn to what you’re doing.

Never…

listen to the haters and trolls! Everyone has an opinion these days and 99% of the time they’ve never met you and don’t know a thing about who you are. Life is too short to get caught up in the gossip of mediocre minds. Successful people focus on their dreams while other people are busy being focused on them.

Favorite Quote…

“Do one thing each day that gets you closer to your dreams.” I’ve lived by that quote for the last five years and look at where it’s gotten me!

Biggest Dream…

To write a New York Times bestselling book!

My Pet Peeve(s)…

Small minded people who like to find the negative in any situation.
