A typical day in my life includes…

no two days are the same. That’s what I love about my career. It’s always interesting, never repetitive.

I was born…

in Iowa City, IA and I stayed there through college – go Hawks! I love the energy and speed of the valley, but I love going back to relax with good people.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

is the beauty of the desert and the different climates for great outdoor activities; a lot of lakes for boating, great camping and hiking terrain and even snowboarding just two hours away.

My family…

is the most important thing to me. They are my reason and motivation behind everything I do, and they keep me grounded. My husband and I are both busy entrepreneurs who work together to balance our baby boy and the extracurricular activities of our energetic six year old. Our life doesn’t slow down until bed time.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

my friends. Sure there are a lot of influential people I could choose to have dinner with, but my friends inspire me too…and they make me laugh.

One thing I cannot live without…

lattes. If you ask anyone who knows me, that’s what they’d say. I have a couple a day. It’s my guilty pleasure.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

a psychologist. I have a bachelors degree in Psychology. However, my college apartments and dorms were always very well decorated. Many people told me I should be a designer. After I heard it enough times, it began to resonate with me.

I’m inspired by…

my clients. Every project starts with similar black and white plans, but each one ends up entirely different from the last because my clients share their idea books, functional needs and thoughts for their dream home, as well as their own quirky likes and dislikes. Many times the challenges they present bring on a greater outcome.

The one person who motivates me is…

my whole energetic team motivates me. Their passion for design makes me excited about every project.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

to stop the bullying. I want to grab every kid and tell them how unimportant popularity is in the grand scheme of life.  It’s so sad how bullying can ruin a child’s soul, and social media makes it that much worse. I worry for my kids. I don’t want them to bully or be bullied and I want them to love who they are and embrace their uniqueness.

The perfect day would be…

since it’s currently 110 degrees, I’m picturing camping on the rim and paddle boarding on the lake.

My first job was…

waitress at Country Kitchen. I was a terrible waitress. I blamed the cook a lot.

My favorite escape…

favorite weekend escape would be Sedona and week-long escape is Cabo.

My life…

is fast paced, never a boring moment, full of stories and great people, exactly what I want it to be.

I’m currently working on…

new construction, remodels and furnishing projects in Arizona, Tahoe, San Diego, Pennsylvania and Vail.

Always…

on the go!

Never…

sweat the small stuff!

My Pet Peeve(s)…

people who are constantly judging. They’re usually not too perfect themselves.
