Title: Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon

Married/Single: Married (to my chief resident)

Kids: 18-year-old boy/girl twins, Jackson and Isabella

City you live in: Paradise Valley

A typical day in my life includes…

wake-up, work-out at EOS Fitness, do aesthetic plastic surgery all day OR see patients in the office, go mountain-biking, dinner with family ALWAYS, play a little piano, have a drink with my wife on our patio staring at the gorgeous scenery in PV, go to sleep.

I was born…

an “army brat” at Ireland Army Hospital in Fort Knox, Kentucky when my dad was in the service.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

definitely the breathtaking scenery including the desert, mountains and vivid colors plus the weather, laid-back attitude, and LITERALLY EVERYONE IS SO FRIENDLY.

I’m listening to…

Eric Church or Jason Aldean vs. Five Finger Death Punch or Linkin Park.

My family…

my wife is an oncologic breast surgeon with AZCCC, we have worked together for 16 years doing surgeries together for women with breast cancer. She performs the mastectomies and I perform the reconstruction. Together we have pioneered a new and novel technique in breast reconstruction, which we have published and teach to other surgeons all over the world. I have published numerous papers and have a textbook on this. My children are headed to college in the fall, Jackson to Boston College where he will be a member of the track team running the 400m hurdles and Isabella is headed to the University of Virginia where she will hopefully study business. We have two dogs, Max a 12-year-old English Bulldog and Cassie and 4-year-old Rottweiller. In a few weeks, we are getting a new member of the family, Ajax a puppy male Rottweiller.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

Will Hunting.

One thing I cannot live without…

my family.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

a racecar driver or a rockstar.

I’m inspired by…

my patients who make me want to be the very best doctor/surgeon I can be.

The one person who motivates me is…

myself. “ If you’re not first, you’re last.”

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

less hate and more love and more puppies.

The perfect day would be…

the day cancer was cured.

My first job was…

mowing lawns. I grew up in the Midwest where there actually is lots of grass that needs to be cut every week.

My favorite escape…

the weight room with earbuds blasting Five Finger Death Punch tunes.

My life…

has been exciting and never dull for a minute. It has been filed with lots of joys of sports, achievements, school (lots!), and love. I have been truly blessed to have had so many incredible experiences and hope that I have given my children a great environment to make some of their own. I recently made a huge mid-life change and moved my family from Chicago to Paradise Valley after being in practice for 16 years. New school for the kids and a new practice for both my wife and I. It is mildly scary but mostly exciting starting a new chapter in our lives!

I’m currently working on…

publishing my latest results in a new minimally invasive form of breast augmentation surgery which is perfect for active people who love to exercise!

Always…

do your best no matter what and nobody can ever question you.

Never…

take short cuts in life.

Favorite Quote…

“Do you like apples?(…) Well, I got her number. How do you like them apples?”

Biggest Dream…

already accomplished it, I’m living it as we speak. Beautiful family, amazing location, perfect practice (Scottsdale Center for Plastic Surgery).

My Pet Peeve(s)…

food remnants not washed down the sink after dishes are done, empty toilet paper roll not replaced, fake people.
