AZF: What is your “life motto”?
“Be the change you want to see in the world.”
AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path for you?
There was a point where I realized my own standards for what I wanted to see in the world just weren’t being met and it bothered me. I wanted to see people doing business the right way, treating others with intention and care in what they put out into the world. You could say I’ve always marched to the beat of my own drum and seen things differently, which I think is almost a prerequisite for being an entrepreneur. I never set out to label myself as one; I was simply following my path and my calling. Entrepreneurship became the natural vehicle for me to bring those values to life.
AZF: How do you feel best supported?
It really is in the simple things. By trusting the people around you and having them show up with love, care and joy. From the person who watches my dog when I’m away, to the one who helps keep my home in order, to the friend I can share my deepest truths with and feel nothing but love in return… it’s those everyday acts of support mean everything. I think when you’re in a position of always “being on” and creating, it’s refreshing and nourishing to be surrounded by people you can trust and people who bring a good attitude and genuine care into what they do.
AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
It really does come down to habits. If you rely on motivation, you’re in a bad position. When the right habits are in place, it becomes the process of willing – AKA choosing – your vision into life. I’m crystal clear on my inner vision and what I want for myself and the world. That clarity with the practical habits in place keeps me moving no matter the challenge.
AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
My perfect Saturday morning begins with a cup of coffee blended with cacao pieces, followed by a refreshing, revitalizing workout. From there, I love strolling through the farmers market with my dog, soaking in the colors, scents and community energy. Coming home to a clean, peaceful house feels like the ultimate reset. Simple joys that leave me feeling grounded and refreshed.
AZF: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?
Every person has that voice secretly inside of them that wants to say, “I always knew I could do it.” Entrepreneurship puts that to the test and proves that it’s true. If you haven’t proven that it’s true, keep going, don’t quit and have one person in your life that believes in you (coach, mentor, parent, friend).
AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?
That we are co-creators! Entrepreneurship is the art (and thrill) of turning what’s inside of you into reality. That my ideas become solutions, services and experiences that can change the trajectory of people’s lives. Once you ‘get it,’ you begin to recognize others who do too and there’s so much joy in knowing we can change the world simply by being who we were designed to be and create with other like-minded and like-hearted people.
