4 Must-Try Golden Globe Trends

We’ve covered our favorite and least favorite looks from the 2012 Golden Globe Awards this week, and I would say overall there was more good than bad this year. And there were definitely a lot of obvious trends: blush colored dresses were in abundance as well as highly saturated blues, yellows, and reds, sparkly embellishments, and everyone seemed to be wearing bracelets in lieu of necklaces (except for a few like Heidi Klum who wore a turquoise bib). Oohing and Ahhing over the beautiful dresses is half the fun of any award show, but what is even more fun is scoring red carpet inspired looks for yourself.

Make Me Blush

I know that a lot of people were kind of over the whole blush/nude color trend by the time the 5th nearly flesh colored dress hit the red carpet, but I’m a huge fan. I think that if you are going to indulge you should stick with evening and cocktail attire… a blush hued blouse might appear a bit dated.

Saturate Me With Color

The color drenched dresses by Zac Posen (think Kelly Osbourne and Reese Witherspoon) were stunning. Try separates in these colors mixed with black and white, the contrast will give them that extra oomph! Or stick with the same color like this Rachel Zoe Neck Tie blouse and maxi skirt… yes they are actually separates.

Show A Little Back

Claire Danes was hands down my favorite of the night in her J. Mendel open-back dress… just beautiful! Most women worry about whether or not their arms will look good, or their tummy is tucked away, but wearing an open back dress can bring on all those same anxieties. So if you want to try this one out I suggest finding a top that has a fairly open back starting from the neck and hitting right before the middle of the back. You’ll feel sexy without feeling self conscience about the fact that you never thought to even work out your back muscles.

Arm Candy

As I said earlier it seems that a lot of celebs traded their statement necklaces for statement bracelets this year. Anything and everything went, as long as their was lots of bling… and not just diamonds. Nicole Richie’s arm party was among my favorite with vintage inspired bracelets.
