The dress code

A chic, black look-alike LBD from Adrianna Papell is anything but a fashion faux pas. In line with royal protocol, the Mikado dress is classically timeless. A-line skirt hits at an appropriate tea length for a look that is feminine and polished.Bare skin through sheer long sleeves and hold the pantyhose. Mirror Meghan in a similar panel dress that will make a mark at any occasion.

The shoe rule

Open-toed shoes are considered informal and bad etiquette in the royal fashion rulebook. It goes so far as female guests at the royal wedding were instructed to avoid open-toe shoes. The strict shoe rule includes heels that are not wobbly or too tall either. Spritz your scent and secure the ankle strap. Louise etCiepointed-toe pumps give the look a formal finishing touch.

The clutch

Opt for a clutch and leave the handbag at home. If you want to be like Meghan Markle or Kate Middleton, hold your purse in your left hand to keep your right hand free. A satin clutch with embellished closure is the perfect complement to a wave or hand shake.

Granted, your average weekend doesn’t involve a red carpet or the Queen’s approval, but you can dress like it.

The look is available now at your local Dillard’s.
