A fresh chapter in elevated retail has arrived at Scottsdale Fashion Square as Banana Republic debuted its newly designed store. Located in the shopping center’s renovated south wing, the space reflects the brand’s ongoing evolution into a global lifestyle destination grounded in artistry, exploration and design.
“Banana Republic is a brand synonymous with rich design and premium quality, so it’s a natural fit for this elevated, yet attainable, brand to make its return to Scottsdale Fashion Square in the newly remodeled upscale south wing,” said Melanie Sutton, Senior Marketing Manager for the shopping center.
The women’s collection welcomes guests at the front, where soft finishes and a light, refined palette create an airy introduction. The men’s collection shifts the tone with rich textures and grounded, natural materials.
At the heart of the store, the cashwrap draws inspiration from a boutique hotel check-in desk, anchored by a striking 16-foot island, while sculptural pendant lighting by Allied Maker adds warmth overhead.
The design continues to unfold toward the back, where the Fitting Room Lounge introduces a more intimate, residential feel. Guests pass through metal plaster arched portals into a space layered with grass cloth wallpaper and a hand-painted mural by Dean Barger Studios.
Throughout the space, Banana Republic’s commitment to craftsmanship is evident in its collaborations with American artisans and independent makers. Sculptural wood fixtures reinterpret the “Red Towers” by Ellie Richards, while oversized ceramic vessels designed by Trevor Dunn, reclaimed oak shelving from Ecology and hand-crafted walnut tables add richness and storytelling.
