A typical day in my life includes

waking up to discover the kiddos are awake well ahead of the 6:00 a.m. alarm. On most days, this means I am up around 5:30 a.m. Yippee! The morning rush begins with my daily “momma” routine. Preparing breakfast and trying to get the kiddos fed before its time to get ready for school. Shower, outfit change, comb hair (if we’re lucky), and brush teeth. Now it’s time to load up in the car. Off we go! Here comes the fun part: time to drop off one kiddo at school then rush to drop off the other kiddo within a twenty-minute timespan. Then, I usually fill up on my (third) cup of coffee for the morning and head to the gym for a grueling workout with my personal trainer. After that, it’s time to make my way to the office to try to get some work done without any distractions. Before I know it, the afternoon rush is upon me and it’s time to put back on my superwoman cape (I mean mom cape…same thing) for after-school activities, homework time, dinner prep, and bedtime routine. Now it’s time for me to tidy up before my bedtime. Just kidding, again. I’m cleaning up the house, preparing lunches for the next day, and getting in some last-minute work. Then, I’ll wake up tomorrow and start it all over again. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Well… maybe for one more cup of coffee…

I was born

I’m a born & raised Paradise Valley, AZ native!

My favorite thing about Arizona

the sunsets. The desert creates the most colorful real-life artworks of nature. I have yet to witness such brilliant and colorful sunsets anywhere else.

I’m listening to

Justin Bieber’s new album, “Purpose”. Who would’ve thought that by the end of 2015 we would all be #beliebers?!

My family

is crazy. I am blessed to have two perfect little kiddos. I know everyone claims their child is “perfect”. However, I am truly blessed. My son has the biggest heart. He has a devoted love for helping all people, despite whether or not he may personally know them. Right now, he has a strong desire to help those battling with cancer. In particular, he has paired with Colleen’s Dream Foundation to help fight the battle against ovarian cancer. My daughter on the other hand, she is a wild one! She loves being active and outdoors. She thinks she is going to be a superwoman and she probably will. And my husband, well, he ties our whole family together. I cannot thank him enough for his love & support.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be

Elizabeth Blackwell. She was the first woman to receive a medical degree in the United States. In addition, she was the first woman on the UK Medical Register. I find medicine to be extremely fascinating, and I would love to sit down with her to talk about how she overcame her struggles. I cannot imagine the amount of discrimination she faced as a woman in a time when men were the dominant partner. Poor girl!

One thing I cannot live without

my children. Oh wait, that’s two things. But I cannot pick between the two of them!

When I was younger, I wanted to be

a philanthropist. While it might sound quite strange for a young six-year-old girl to be telling everyone she meets that she wants to be a philanthropist, it is true. And this love has stuck with me to this day. I love helping everyone and everything. Sometimes a little too much… Just ask my husband.

I’m inspired by

those who are less fortunate. I travel quite frequently to areas of extreme poverty and witness families who have virtually nothing. Despite having virtually nothing, these families remain optimistic and live each day to the fullest. These people inspire me to always be appreciative and use my blessings to help those in need.

The one person who motivates me is

my children. Oh wait, that’s two again. You get the point. They are constantly watching me & mimicking everything I do. They allow me to be the best version of myself, while helping them grow up to be the best they can be.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be

to end violence throughout the world. As the Black Eyes Peas once said (don’t judge me, it’s a great song), “Where Is The Love?”

“What’s wrong with the world, mama

People livin’ like they ain’t got no mamas

I think the whole world addicted to the drama

Only attracted to things that’ll bring you trauma

Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism

But we still got terrorists here livin’

In the USA, the big CIA

The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK

But if you only have love for your own race

Then you only leave space to discriminate

And to discriminate only generates hate

And when you hate then you’re bound to get irate, yeah

Madness is what you demonstrate

And that’s exactly how anger works and operates

Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight

Take control of your mind and meditate

Let your soul gravitate to the love, y’all, y’all

People killin’, people dyin’

Children hurt and you hear them cryin’

Can you practice what you preach?

Or would you turn the other cheek?”

The perfect day would be

to embark on a worldwide travel expedition, visiting as many new places as possible within a 24 hour span. Can you tell I like to travel?!

My first job was

when I was nineteen I opened my own restaurant, “Bento Bar” on Mill Avenue in Tempe, AZ. I worked long days. Somehow I managed to be the baker, barista, bartender, busser, cashier, chef, and dishwasher all in one! It was some sort of magic.

My favorite escape

Tanzania, Africa; exhilarating adventure, fascinating culture, and extraordinary wildlife…where else can you get all of that?! To top it all off, the sunsets are truly magical. The sunsets in good ‘ol Paraidse Valley, AZ give me a little glimpse of the beauty within Tanzania, though not quite like the real thing.

My life

is a whirlwind of amazing events. Everyday something new happens that ceases to amaze me. Short and sweet, I love my life.

I’m currently working on

fundraising for a cause that I hold near and dear to my heart: ovarian cancer. My family has vowed to support Colleen’s Dream Foundation in helping to find a cure for this horrible disease.

Always

be optimistic. You never know who could use some positive vibes.

Never

turn down adventure. Always be willing to try new things.

Favorite Quote

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” ~ Mark Twain

Biggest Dream

to explore the world with my children. I love to see the world through their eyes. Fortunately, I’m living my biggest dream.

My Pet Peeve(s)

lazy people. The world has so much to offer. Get up and go adventure!
