Brides planning to tie the knot next fall might want to consider forgoing a traditional white wedding dress in favor of a little color.
From cheery coral to bright peony, models sashayed down the runway showcasing Vera Wang’s all-pink fall 2014 bridal collection last week.
Despite departing from traditional white, Wang kept steady with classic silhouettes, like ball gowns and mermaid styles draped in tulle and organza that featured delicate floral appliqués and intricate vermicelli beading.
Wang told WWD that she was inspired by classic films such as “Funny Face,” where an entire scene shows a group of women “thinking pink” for summer dresses,” and “Gentleman Prefer Blondes,” which features Marilyn Monroe wearing a fluorescent pink Schiaparelli gown.
No stranger to versatility, Wang introduced bold color to the bridal runways last year with her statement collection that highlighted red wedding dresses.
