Leading global toymaker Mattel has partnered with destination developer Epic to bring the first-ever Mattel-based theme park, Mattel Adventure Park, to Glendale, Ariz. next year.

Opening just south of State Farm Stadium, the new entertainment destination will highlight Mattel’s iconic portfolio of popular toy brands, which includes Hot Wheels, Thomas & Friends, Barbie, Fisher-Price, UNO and Monster High.

Guests will get to see all of their favorite toys brought to life with fun amusement rides and experiences built and designed by some of the world’s top talents in attractions and design.

The park will feature five family-friendly tank engine attractions in Thomas & Friends World of Sodor, a multi-story Barbie Beach House, an entertainment theater adventure, double-looping coasters and more, all within a unique indoor/outdoor setting.

Interactive media productions include the park’s Thomas Adventure Train: Treasure Hunt, which allows families to talk to Thomas and his friends before embarking on a journey aboard a real-life electric Thomas the Tank Engine and the Hot Wheels Unleashed 4D Ride, which takes guests on a thrilling 4D motion experience behind the wheel of a custom-designed Hot Wheels car.

Hot Wheels fans can also experience lightning speed on Mattel Adventure Park’s two Hot Wheels roller coasters, Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer and Hot Wheels Boneshaker: The Ultimate Ride, or race on the mult-level Hot Wheels go-kart track.

“We share a pioneering vision in collaborating with Mattel to develop a world class primarily indoor theme park destination,” says Epic Resort Destinations President Mark Cornell. “Our key to an innovative and impactful park design has been fully leveraged through strategic partnerships, teaming with industry leaders like Mad Systems for their award-winning audiovisual design and interactive integration capabilities; Daniels Woodland for iconic attractions theming and fabrication and Lightswitch, illumination experts implementing cutting-edge solutions for all of our attractions from rollercoasters to our one of a kind, four level Hot Wheels Go-kart track. The output of these partnerships has enabled us to create an extraordinary immersive branded theme park experience.”
