Rock the Peak: A Zumbathon Fitness Block Party in Scottsdale

Troon Mountain Health and Fitness invites you to dance in the streets for your health with their “Rock the Peak” Zumbathon block party on April 17 to benefit The Pancreatic Cancer Foundation!

Zumba, the energizing dance craze that is sweeping the country, will infuse Reggae, Marimba, Salsa and the latest for a fun-filled workout for a good cause. The Zumbathon will play host to several Zumba professionals, including popular Zumba trainer Carolyn Geerling-Goryl who will make a guest appearance. Every half hour, a new trainer will join in the fun and keep the mood high!

The Zumbathon starts at 9 a.m. and will keep you sweating until 11 a.m. The first 50 guests will receive a fabulous “Goody Bag.” There will also be a Silent Auction to raise even more funds for The Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.

Throughout the event, located at Troon Mountain Health and Fitness club in Scottsdale, guests can enjoy a variety of vendors and Fitness Displays and many more activities.

General Manager Ashley McCants came up with the idea to put Rock the Peak together in support of the mother of Susan Sirota, co-owner of Troon Mountain Health & Fitness. Susan’s mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer one year ago and has shown incredible strength in her continuing fight against the disease.

According to McCants, “What better way to pay tribute to a wonderful woman whose strength and courage has impressed us all, than to dance in the streets for health”, McCants continued, “Our Zumba classes are some of the most popular fitness programs and it’s time to head to the streets and spread the word.”

Tickets, which are a Purple “keepsake” wristband, and are the color icon of the Foundation, can be purchased early at a cost of $10. The wristbands will give you access to the event and will benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. For tickets call Troon Mountain Health and Fitness at 480.538.2877. Wristbands purchased after April 12 will be at a fee of $15 each.

Zumbathon will gather Trainers from around the Valley in and effort to raise funds, build awareness and bring as many people together dancing for life. In addition, anyone who is interested in participating in the fundraiser can contact Ashley McCants for more information at Troon Mountain Health and Fitness.
