A cornado is on the horizon and old town Scottsdale is about to get rocked for the fifth annual Cornhole Cup on Saturday, April 4. The free event, hosted by Arizona Sports 98.7 FM in front of Livewire, is more than just a bean-bag tossing tourney for cornhole-crazed competitors. Live performances by The Walkens will keep the cornament hopping and event proceeds will raise money for the Prostate On-Site Project. Doors open at 10 a.m. with the first toss at 11 a.m.
Think you’re the Lebron of bags? Well get your team of cornstars together and register to play here, space is limited. The gold medal winning team will take home $1,000 cash and the coveted Cornhole Cup trophy with second place awarded $750 and third raking in $500. Even if you’re not the most athletically inclined bagger there’s still a chance to snag $1,000 for Best Team Costume.
Following the tournament, 90s hip hop tribute band Vanilla Spice will take the stage inside Livewire for the after party. The high-energy 9 piece ensemble combines a unique blend of musical styling, old school dance moves and authentic apparel to make every performance a truly genuine experience. Party goers will get down to favorite 90s hip hops hits including House of Pain’s “Jump Around,” Tupac’s “California Love,” Notorious B.I.G’s “Hypnotize,” Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It” and Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison,” and many more.
