This July, the journey through Downtown Phoenix may be just as exciting as the destination. Downtown Phoenix Inc., in partnership with Valley Metro, is launching DTPHX Ride the Rail, a monthlong campaign designed to transform everyday light rail travel.

Running July 1 through July 31, the campaign encourages residents and visitors to explore Downtown Phoenix while supporting local restaurants, retailers, and small businesses during the slower summer season. Riders can pick up a complimentary Copper Card to access exclusive discounts and promotions at participating ]businesses. Deals can also be unlocked by showing the Ride the Rail advertisement in the Valley Metro app.
The campaign will also feature live music performances abroad the Valley Metro Rail B Line on July 16, 24, and 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. Performances will take place between the Central Avenue/Camelback station and the Downtown Phoenix Hub, making the ride itself part of the entertainment.

Participants can enjoy $20 off bowling or billiards at 810 Entertainment, buy one happy hour drink and get a second for just $1 at Pa’la, receive $5 off admission to the Phoenix Art Museum, and take advantage of a buy-one, get-one free offer on a 16-ounce self-pour beer or 7-ounce wine at Tap That Downtown – just to name a few specials taking place.
Free Copper Cards are available from DTPHX Ambassadors, Valley Metro Customer Experience Representatives and the Valley Metro Customer Service Desk at the DTPHX Community Resource Hub on Washington Street. With local deals, live entertainment and easy access to Downtown destinations, Ride the Rail offers a new way to experience Phoenix this summer.
