In early November, a Portland-based restaurant is slated to open its first Arizona location at Tempe Marketplace. Thirsty Lion Pub and Grill is described as an upscale–yet casual–pub and grill. “With our newest location, we are excited to bring the Thirsty Lion culture to the Arizona dining scene,” says CEO John Plew. “We believe the Tempe Marketplace location is a great place for our first expansion outside of Oregon because of its community scene, relation to ASU and as a unique shopping destination.”
Thirsty Lion focuses on multi-cultural cuisines with an emphasis on local ingredients, bold flavors and from-scratch recipes, with menu items including burgers, artisan pizzas, fresh salads, sandwiches and more. Plus, there will be plenty to quench the thirst of diners, as well. (It is a pub, after all.) Fifty-two local craft import and domestic beers will be on draft; Thirsty Lion also features unique cocktails which utilize combinations of fresh fruit purees, juices and premium liquors.
The food and drink at Thirsty Lion can be enjoyed in a warm inviting interior with wood-paneled walls, modern lighting and an inviting patio. Plus, Thirsty Lion’s centerpiece bar and exhibition kitchen creates a sense of community among guests. Music lovers will also find their niche at Thirsty Lion, as the audio and video system incorporates HD music videos from a variety of artists. Their music programming consists of multiple music genres to heighten the mood and vibe of the guest experience. Also, sports fans can catch all live local, national and European sports on 13 plasma televisions. http://www.thirstylionpub.com/.
