These Ariz. Resort Restaurants Received Wine Spectator’s ‘Award of Excellence’

Wine Spectator has awarded nine Arizona resort and hotel restaurants with the coveted “Award of Excellence” for 2023. These restaurants demonstrate a deep commitment to their wine programs, which not only feature an extensive selection of quality producers but also complement the cuisine and appeal to a wide audience. 

Here are the nine Arizona resort and hotel restaurants that earned The Wine Spectator “Award of Excellence”: 

Bourbon Steak at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess 

Guests can choose from nearly 1,000 selections of red, white and sparkling wines produced locally and across Burgundy, California, Bordeaux, Italy and more.

elements offers a 400-plus-label collection and counting, which includes Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Rosé, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Tempranillo, under the award-winning Level 2 Certified Sommelier and Certified Sake Advisor Laura Bruno. 

Ember at We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort

At Ember, guests can choose from more than 900 wines by the bottle and 26 wines by the glass with recommendations from the restaurant’s expert and knowledgeable sommelier. 

Harvest at Castle Hot Springs

Harvest offers an award-winning collection of nearly 500 wines that enhance the restaurant’s New American farm-to-table menu and are hand-picked by sommelier Sarah Foote, director of wine and service at Castle Hot Springs. 

J&G Steakhouse at The Phoenician

J&G Steakhouse offers an extensive wine list of more than 500 selections made from top producers in Napa Valley, France and other wine destinations around the world. 

Lon’s at the Hermosa Inn

In addition to its quality wine list of 700 selections, Lon’s features a collection of up to 6,000 bottles of wine at any given time.

Orange Sky at Talking Stick Resort

Orange Sky’s fine dining experience is complemented by its award-winning wine list of more than 450 bottles and over 30 wines by the glass. Guests can find a strong selection of California, French and Italian wines. 

Prime Steak House at Gila River Resorts & Casinos — Wild Horse Pass

With more than 420 bottles to choose from, guests at Prime Steak House can enjoy quality wines that come from top producers in California, Burgundy, Bordeaux and more. 

The Grill at Hacienda Del Sol

Now with a selection of over 800 wines, The Grill has continued to earn recognition for its impressive wine list that features unique selections from Argentina to complement its Southwest menu.
