While 2011 is still new, it’s time to learn about delicious ways to improve your health in the new year. Scottsdale’s TeaTime (an Old Town tea shop dedicated to high-quality teas and high-end tea products) is offering a slew of cool classes in the coming days when top experts will teach tea drinkers about the goodness of chocolate, eating raw and herbal medicines. Classes include Wei of Chocolate, Dr. Phil Wazny & Prevention with Herbs and Dr. Peter Smith & Raw Food Smoothies.
Wei of Chocolate
Lisa Reinhardt from Phoenix’s Wei of Chocolate will stop by TeaTime on Wednesday, Jan 26 at 6:30 p.m. to get Valentine’s Day celebrations off to an early start. Wei of Chocolate goodies are organic, gluten-free and vegan–plus, the chocolates are made locally. Guests will learn to let the piece melt on their tongue to savor all the notes. TeaTime will serve selected teas to compliment the featured chocolates.
Dr. Phil Wazny & Prevention with Herbs
On Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m., Dr. Phil Wazny NMD will visit TeaTime to discuss prevention with herbs. Dr. Wazny has extensive experience and knowledge integrating traditional medicines. His private practice as a primary care physician is in Scottsdale. This will be Dr. Wazny’s return visit to TeaTime and will be a one-hour health discussion. Dr. Wanzy will discuss how it is easier to prevent illness then it is to recover from it. You will want to take notes–don’t forget a pad and pen. Be sure to e-mail TeaTime to reserve your seat for Dr. Phil Wazny & Prevention with Herbs.
Dr. Peter Smith & Raw Food Smoothies
On Tuesday, Feb. 22 6:30 p.m., Dr. Peter Smith will guide TeaTime guests through the Basics and Benefits of Raw Foods. He will demonstrate the ease of incorporating raw foods into your diet by making a smoothie for all in attendance to try. This is Dr. Smith’s first event with us so sign-up early as it is sure to be a full class. Dr. Smith is an expert on supplementation, raw foods and disease prevention. He authored “The Body Green Lifestyle Detox.” He’s the original founder of “green smoothies” and “the perfect breakfast” (detox drink). Dr. Smith has extensive background in Biochemistry and Genetics, a biology degree and doctorate in chiropractic. Dr. Smith believes eating raw foods is a balanced–and a great-tasting–way to get your required daily nutrients.
