Join Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar & Grill Oct. 19 and Oct. 20 for its Weekend Blitz. Both the Phoenix and Chandler locations will open at 10 a.m. for a very special weekend brunch. Enjoy new brunch and lunch items (like the delish Five Spice French Toast!) in addition to awesome drink specials from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Brunch Café is now serving $5 Fido Frisbee Meals to all well-behaved dogs on its dog-friendly patio. Pups are served two scrambled eggs on a Frisbee–and you get to keep the Frisbee. Brunch Café is open from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.

Fans of all things comic, cartoon and caped crusader will find all that and more at Commander Hamburger (pictured), the latest culinary offering from Bernie Kantak, the chef behind The Gladly in Phoenix and Citizen Public House in Scottsdale. Slated to open Oct. 17 at The Churchill in Phoenix, the casual Commander Hamburger is a colorful, high-energy eatery with grab-and-go options, like burgers and chicken sandwiches featuring Noble Bread buns, Danzeisen soft-serve cones, fries and other classic eats. Kantak’s famed Original Chopped Salad will be on the menu too! At 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, the first 100 superfans in line will score a limited-edition Commander Hamburger card that puts a free Danzeisen soft serve in their hand any time they make a purchase, for the remainder of 2019.

Harkins Theatres has launched a signature line of packaged popcorn (in flavors like White Cheddar, Movie Theatre Butter and Kettle Corn), which can now be found in grocery and convenience retailers statewide. Harkins is the first and only movie theater brand to expand into the retail popcorn category. Harkins Popcorn is currently available at the following Arizona retailers: Fry’s Food Stores, Bashas’ and Circle K, with more to come. 

Kaleidoscope has announced the grand opening of its new Gainey Village location for Thursday, Oct. 17. To celebrate the grand opening, guests will receive a free cold-pressed juice with any purchase Thursday, Oct. 17, through Sunday, Oct. 20. Plus, samples of other menu items such as avocado toast, smoothies and protein cookies will be offered.

Huss Brewing Co. is bringing a taste of Bavaria to the heart of Phoenix with its annual Husstoberfest at the Huss Taproom at Uptown Plaza. Hosted on Saturday, Oct. 19, from noon to 6 p.m. inside the grass-lined Uptown Plaza Courtyard, Huss’ annual salute to Oktoberfest pairs specially-priced Huss beer steins with bratwurst from Phoenix’s famed Schreiner’s Fine Sausage, which have been cooked in Huss beer. Huss will be untapping its seasonal Oktoberfest Bavarian Märzenbeer, a traditional German-style copper-red brew, brimming with a full-bodied yet dry flavor with a slight malty sweetness. Plus, the Husstoberfest will also feature the Not Your Granny’s Apples food truck, serving up gourmet caramel-dipped apples.

In celebration of its 33rd year in the restaurant biz, Someburros is serving up a special deal on one of its best-selling dishes. All day Friday, Oct. 18, stop into any Someburros location across the state (excluding Sun Devil Stadium) and score a Pollo Asado Burro for just $5. Regularly $7.25, this new fan-favorite selection features pollo asado, refried beans, cheese and sour cream, all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla.

Chef Jean-Christophe Gros and his wife Ségolène is celebrating the fourth anniversary of their Scottsdale restaurant Voila French Bistro by hosting a special prix fixe, wine-paired dinner on Oct. 20. The anniversary wine-paired dinner is $79 per guest and will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. 

The Southwest Cider Festival is returning for a second year to showcase the growing popularity of craft cider in the region. Hosted by Cider Corps in Downtown Mesa on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 3 to 8 p.m., the festival will include samples of local and regional ciders, food trucks, music and other activities. The event will be outside Cider Corps at 31 S. Robson St. VIP tickets are $50 and include early enter from 3 to 4 p.m., a festival T-shirt, commemorative glass and 20 drink tickets. General admission tickets are $45 and include a commemorative glass and 15 drink tickets. 

Juby True’s Spiced Pumpkin Smoothie is back, made with pumpkin, banana, toasted walnut, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and house-made almond mylk. Plus, the not-too-sweet beverage is packed with nutrients benefiting the heart, blood pressure and skin.
