During the week of Aug. 17 through Aug. 24, customers can visit the Miracle Mile Deli Facebook page to vote for their favorite sandwich out of the Deli’s top three sellers: The Straw, The New Yorker or The Brisket of Beef. The winning sandwich will be named “Special Sandwich of The Week,” and a percentage of the proceeds from each sandwich sold the following week (Aug. 24 -through Aug. 30) will benefit Feeding Matters.
Starting at only $100, the Sandbar Mexican Grill Fantasy Football Package includes a private cabana for you and your friends, including finger foods, two pitchers of beer (bottle service also available), and a personal draft board featuring magnetic nameplates to keep track of each pick. Upgrade to either the Playoff Package ($200) or Super Bowl Package ($300) and secure a team of dedicated servers, including a Draft Board Assistant, all decked out with eye black and a referee shirt, who will personally post picks to your draft board. On Sunday, August 16, Salut Kitchen Bar is donating 20 percent of combined sales from select food and drink to Lions Camp Tatiyee, the only free, special-needs camp in Arizona for individuals of all ages with disabilities. From open to close, enjoy the make-your-own s’mores kit or a refreshing Kilt Lifter, or choose from Salut’s full menu of food and beverage and find one of the donation jars set up throughout the restaurant. With half-off bottles of wine and a raffle where you can enter to win a Salut gift card, sporting event tickets and more, you can spend the afternoon supporting a great cause.
Marcellino Ristorante will reopened Aug. 13 after a two-week summer break. To celebrate, diners making a dinner reservation on Aug. 21 and 22 will receive a complimentary glass of prosecco with their meal.
Earnest in Chandler is celebrating “National S’mores Day” all next week, through Saturday, Aug. 15, with a special menu of housemade s’mores, classic and new.
To celebrate Arizona wines, on Aug. 14 and 15, Whole Foods Market stores in Chandler and Tucson will host an Arizona Wine Awards event for the sixth year in a row. The event will feature 15 local wineries and 30 wines. Customers can taste local wines and vote for their favorite. In honor of Elvis Week, MIM will host “Musical Icon: Elvis” on August 15 and 16, complete with a southern-inspired menu in Café Allegro. Enjoy Southern-style Hound Dog hocks and beans, peach cobbler, catfish sandwich and much more.
Garrison Brothers Distillery of Texas (pictured) will host a three-course whiskey dinner on Thursday, August 20, at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain’s jade bar. The exclusive event begins at 6:30 p.m. and is priced at $89, plus tax and gratuity. Guests will dine on Texas-inspired, seasonal fare prepared by renowned Chef Beau MacMillan. Each innovative dish will be chef-paired with premium spring and fall bourbon vintages, as well as a specially prepared signature bourbon cocktail. Those in attendance will also be treated to a presentation by owner Charlie Garrison and live music following the dinner. Now through Aug. 16, head to Hopdoddy Burger Bar for The Pineapple Upside-Down Shake Special of handmade ice cream, caramelized pineapple, fresh pineapple juice, black cherry syrup, cherries and whipped cream.
Thursday, Aug. 20, is National Lemonade Day. Luci’s Healthy Marketplace in Phoenix wants to celebrate by opening a lemonade stand inside their venue that day. Tempe-based business, Sun Orchard Juicery, is donating the lemonade for the stand which will be open from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. that day. Donations of any size will be collected by Lucia’s children and are encouraged in exchange for the lemonade. One-hundred percent of the proceeds will go to local school, New Way Academy, which has established itself as Arizona’s premier K-12 independent day school catering to children with learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD and executive functioning difficulties.
Friday, August 14, is National Creamsicle Day. To celebrate, TEXAZ Grill will be offering their Orange Grove cocktail, a twist on this dessert favorite, for just $5 all day long.
Chef Josh Hebert from POSH Improvisational Cuisine is taking over the El Chorro kitchen for Ramen Night on Wednesday, August 19. Hebert’s a la carte ramen menu will feature favorites from his Ramen Shop like Shoyu Ramen with soy sauce, car sui pork, fish cake & Japanese Okonomiyaki (a savory vegetable pancake).
