The Valley’s dessert scene just got a little sweeter with the arrival of 16 Handles, which officially opened its first Arizona location in Chandler in March. Known for its sleek design, creative flavors, and customizable treats, the frozen yogurt brand is bringing a modern dessert experience to the East Valley.

Located on South Arizona Avenue, the new shop marks an exciting milestone not only for the brand but also for the husband-and-wife team behind the franchise, Tom and Teresa Eubanks. Their journey to opening the store began during a trip to Hawaii to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary, when the couple tried frozen yogurt for the first time. Inspired by the atmosphere and interactive experience, they saw an opportunity to recreate that same sense of joy back home.

Tom, a Navy veteran who spent three decades as an air traffic controller, and Teresa, an Arizona native with an MBA and a background in accounting, have combined their skills and shared vision to bring the concept to life. The shop is designed to be a welcoming, family-friendly space where people can gather, celebrate, and create sweet memories.

“We’re excited to bring 16 Handles to Chandler and introduce the community to a fun, build-your-own dessert experience,” Tom said. “Whether it’s frozen yogurt piled high with toppings or a quick sweet treat, we wanted to create a place where people can come together and enjoy something delicious.”
Guests can choose from 16 rotating soft-serve flavors, ranging from classics like vanilla and cookies and cream to more adventurous, limited-edition offerings that have included French Fry and Squid Ink.
With more than 50 toppings and sauces to mix and match, plus options like frozen cakes, take-home pints, and DŌ gourmet edible cookie dough, the possibilities are endless. The space itself is designed with lounge-style seating. It’s suited for family outings, hangouts, or a low-key date night. Learn more at 16handles.com.
