On Oct. 1, Downtown Scottsdale will welcome a new hot spot where guests can sip on delicious cocktails, enjoy conversation in a comfortable atmosphere and listen to live tunes. The Casablanca Lounge, from Amar Patel of Magnum’s Cigars, will open at Scottsdale SouthBridge above The Herb Box, spanning 4,500 square feet indoors and boasting a 2,500-sq.-ft. patio.
Bartending duo Rich Heider II (J&G Steakhouse, BLT Steak) and Tyson Buhler (Jade Bar, Mabel’s on Main) will provide delicious drinks for Casablanca patrons, and there are no restrictions as to how creative these two bartenders can get. The Casablanca bar will feature an impressive 360 spirits and nearly every ingredient and tool necessary for Heider and Buhler to work their magic, including cocktail-aging barrels, hand-chiseled ice, homemade cordials, grenadines, infusions and the appropriate glass for virtually every drink. To go along with the impressive drink selections, the lounge has partnered with The Herb Box to create a menu of small plates, including dessert options.
The digs at Casablanca will be just as impressive as the drinks. The spot will host comfortable, living room-style seating arrangements, dim lighting, a classic bar overlooking a backlit wall of spirits and space for live music performances. On the patio, there will be resort-style patio furniture and an oversized firepit. Plus, from the expansive patio, views of Scottsdale can be enjoyed with coin-operated binoculars.
For private events, Casablanca boasts The Speakeasy, a hidden suite that can facilitate up to 30 people (think business meetings, bridal showers, bachelor parties, etc.) The Speakeasy is capped off with a private balcony overlooking Camelback Mountain, a Connelly billiards table, a 42-inch plasma television and Internet access. There is even a private entrance and private access to the lavatory hallway.
Casablanca will be open Wednesday through Sunday, from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. http://www.thecasablancalounge.com/.
