Cinco de Mayo Dining in Phoenix

Cinco de Mayo is nearly here–meaning the Valley is celebrating the holiday with plenty of tequila, fab dining specials and can’t-miss festivities. Here’s where to be come May 5.

Arrowhead Grill in Glendale is celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a five-course feast of authentic Mexican fare and cocktails, including tacos al pastor and an enchilada trio. For dessert, a tres leches crème brûlée that counts a $500 bottle of Gran Patrón Burdeos among its ingredients. Dinner is $65.99 per person and kicks off at 5 p.m.
Head to Blanco Tacos + Tequila in Scottsdale for south-of-the-border favorites (like its amazing guacamole, pictured) as well as music on the patio (from 12 to 8 p.m.) at the Borgata location in Scottsdale. Special drink offers include $8 classic margaritas, $11 top shelf margaritas and $3 and $6 Mexican can beers.
TQLA in Mesa rings in Cinco de Mayo with a special “Party on the Patio.” Diners are invited to win prizes and savor a special brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drink specials include $4.50 house margaritas, $8 Don Julio margaritas, $2 off tap tequila shots, $10 Blanco Tequila flights, $12 Reposado Tequila flights and $3 Coronas.
Sandbar Mexican Grill’s three Valley locations host all-day/all-night fiestas on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5. Live entertainment by top DJs and local bands like Black Bottom Lighters, The Walkens and The Hourglass Cats is planned. Sandbar is also rolling out the street taco carts and serving up beer and margarita specials all weekend long.
Starting Friday, May 3, Phoenix’s Milagro Grill dishes up more than 40 food and drink specials throughout the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, specials include $2 chicken or costilla (short rib) tacos, $3 Mexican draft beer, margaritas, domestic bottle beer and mimosas, 20 percent off all bottles of wine and much more. (Friday has its own set of wallet-friendly specials, too.)
Thirsty Lion Pub & Grill in Tempe created a special Cinco de Mayo menu, including Baja fish tacos, chipotle mac and cheese and more, that will run from Thursday, May 2 to Sunday, May 5. Featured margaritas include blood orange, tropical and more.
Brat Haus in Scottsdale celebrates Cinco de Sausage at Brat Haus on Sunday, May 5, taking on Cinco de Mayo bavarian style. There will be a pinata full of goodies, a German mariachi band and plenty of tequila, beer and tacos to go around.
