Kicking off this Friday, Proof, an American canteen, at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North has announced the return of the popular Backyard Barbecue program. Each Backyard Barbecue event, taking place every other Friday in June, July and August, features family-style barbecue, live music and local Arizona beer for family-friendly fun.
The barbecue menu rotates periodically. Backyard Barbecue eats may include homemade cornbread hush puppies; mixed greens and charred corn; barbecue ribs; honey-garlic grilled chicken; pulled pork and shrimp skewers to share; baked beans; dill-cucumber salad with feta cheese; cherry tomatoes mixed with Vidalia onions; peach-strawberry pie and much more.
Backyard Barbecuers will also enjoy Arizona beers like the signature Proof Pilsner, Mother Road Black IPA and Fate seasonal draft. (All beers will be offered for $6.)
“Nothing spells summer like a classic barbecue,” says Proof’s Executive Sous Chef Jesse Hansen. “We are building upon the success from last year with an expanded menu, and an emphasis on live music and local draft beer. Spend the day by the pool, then ‘come as you are’ with flip flops and a T-shirt and enjoy a relaxed evening with us.”
The barbecue is located on Proof’s patio from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on June 6 and 20; July 4 and 18; and August 1, 15 and 29. The cost is $38 per person, and reservations are strongly recommended by calling 480.513.5088. www.proofcanteen.com.
