We thought culinary match-ups like this only happened on “Iron Chef.” Tomorrow, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m., Chef Beau MacMillan of elements at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain and guest Chef Bradford Thompson, formerly of Mary Elaine’s at the Phoenician, will host a five-course dinner to benefit the James Beard Foundation. The pre-dinner reception (the reception and dinner will take place at Sanctuary) will feature passed canapés, wine and Stella Artois beer as well as the opportunity to chat with the chefs. Not surprisingly, the dinner has a New England slant; you see, Chef Thompson is from Delaware while Chef MacMillan hails from Massachusetts.
Sashimi of Fluke: spiced coconut broth, tempura fried herbs
Cod Duo: salt cod cake, wild mushroom, parsley sauce steamed cod in shellfish-miso broth
Lobster Pot Pie: english peas, potatoes, black truffle
