For 15 years, Rosa’s Pizzeria has been part of the fabric of Prescott, serving up Italian favorites while becoming a gathering place for families, celebrations, sports teams and countless community memories. For owner Skyler Reeves, who purchased the restaurant in 2018, being part of that history is something he doesn’t take for granted.
“Rosa’s has become such a staple in a community that all of us love very much. I feel so grateful to be a part of Rosa’s, and even more so to be part of the memories, celebrations, and great times that have been had over the years,” Reeves says.
The restaurant’s story began with Dominic and Rosa Enzello, a husband-and-wife couple from Italy who eventually made their way to Arizona and settled in Prescott. They opened Rosa’s and quickly became beloved members of the community, building a restaurant that would go on to become a local fixture. When the Enzellos retired, Reeves was excitedto have the opportunity to continue what they had started.
“I was thrilled to carry on their legacy and their passion,” he says. “We’ve only made very small adjustments, so their fingerprints are still very much all over the restaurant, which I’m very proud of.”
Reeves already owned another Prescott restaurant, The Barley Hound, when he learned Rosa’s was available. While he wasn’t specifically looking to purchase another restaurant, the opportunity quickly felt like the right fit. Today, Rosa’s remains focused on creating a welcoming place for any occasion. The restaurant is especially accommodating to large groups, regularly hosting sports teams and clubs.
And then, of course, there’s the food. The restaurant’s most popular dish is its chicken martini, featuring chicken breaded in a Parmesan crust and served with a light creamy sauce, peas and asparagus. It’s been the restaurant’s number one seller by far. For its 15th anniversary, Rosa’s is taking a slightly different approach to celebrating. Rather than throwing a party, Reeves wanted to give back to the community.
Beginning on Wednesdays, some of Rosa’s most popular dishes will be available for just $15. The special includes favorites such as chicken martini, chicken Parmesan and pepperoni pizza, along with a bottle of wine. After 15 years, that spirit of community remains at the heart of Rosa’s. For Reeves, the restaurant is about more than food, it’s about the people and moments that have filled its tables over the years.
