Americana Motor Hotel on Route 66 to Reopen This Summer

This June, Americana Motor Hotel will reopen on the iconic Route 66 in Flagstaff, Ariz. following an extensive renovation and rebrand by Practice Hospitality, which brings travelers a modern spin on the classic roadside hotel just in time for summer road trip season.

Built in 1962, the reimagined motor hotel is a launchpad for adventure, perfect for road-trippers who are ready to take off and explore Northern Arizona’s wide-open spaces, natural wonders and far-out history.

Designed by former Chief Creative Officer of Graduate Hotels Andrew Alford, the retro-futuristic hotel draws inspiration from the region’s deep ties to astronomy, surrounding nature and an idyllic, yet nostalgic, vision of the future.

Americana will welcome guests onboard with a vibrant design that celebrates utopian optimism with colorful touches, like geometric carpets and in-room disco balls, as well as captivating focal points, including lobby walls that change from warm desert shades to the deep hues of a night sky depending on which way you walk through the space.

The 89 guest rooms all offer plush beds, hypoallergenic pillows, premium WiFi, 55” 4K TVs, refrigerators, safes, coffee makers, blackout shades and brand new walk-in showers, while disco balls and brightly-colored decor add an extra touch to the sleeping spaces.

On-property highlights and amenities include: a Mission Control lobby complete with bikes to venture around town, telescopes to stargaze, souvenirs and morning coffee; “dive-in” movies in the year-round heated pool; an expansive backyard with firepits, games and hammocks; and a fenced in “Barkyard” for travelers with pets. Guests can fuel up after a day of adventure at Far Out Food, the property’s walk-up dining concept, which serves burgers, fries and canned beverages.

Whether you’re daytripping along Route 66, looking to hit the cute shops and galleries in Flagstaff’s artistic and eclectic town, ready to cross off bucket-list landmarks in the “City of Seven Wonders,” or wanting to witness the star-painted skies and Lunar Legacy of the world’s first “Dark Sky City,” Americana Motor Hotel offers plenty of room for adventure.
