Inspired by “Millionaire’s Row” at Churchill Downs, the Fairmont is bringing Kentucky to the desert. Sip on frosty mint juleps and enjoy Bulleit Bourbon tastings while filling up on a decadent brunch. Savory favorites include Kentucky Derby hot browns, pickled shrimp, fried chicken biscuits, house-smoked Andouille sausage sliders, cornmeal fried oysters, deviled eggs and shrimps and grits. Feed your sweet tooth with a spread of buttermilk chess pie, red velvet cupcakes, berry cobbler bites and Derby pie. The brunch also includes a commemorative Kentucky Derby glass, a complimentary mint julep and a Champagne toast.

While filling up on the best eats, you won’t miss a second of the big day as indoor and outdoor plasma screens will have complete coverage of the event from 1 to 4 p.m. with the pistol sounding at an estimated time of 3:34 p.m. And before the post parade there will be a sing-along of “My Old Kentucky Home.”

Attendees are encouraged to don their best derby fashion from the largest hats to the freshest seersuckers. Both men and women will have a chance to win prizes including dinner for two at Bourbon Steak, a day at Well & Being Spa and a weekend getaway to the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess.

Document your stylish looks on the Winner’s Circle lawn where guests can pose for a selfie with a thoroughbred race horse so you can trick your followers into thinking you just might be in Kentucky. Relax on Bourbon Steak’s patio, play cornhole and other lawn games or test drive the latest BMWs from BMW of North Scottsdale who will have models available at the event.

Bourbon Steak’s Kentucky Derby Brunch is $109 per person. For reservations, call 480.585.2694 or purchase tickets at the door.
