North Phoenix is getting a new hospitality destination as Plaza Companies and Fayth Hospitality prepare to break ground on Hotel Six Four, Mayo Blvd, a 257-room dual-brand Hilton hotel at the southeast corner of 64th Street and Mayo.

The six-story property will bring together two Hilton brands under one roof: Tapestry Collection by Hilton, offering a boutique lifestyle experience, and Homewood Suites by Hilton, featuring extended-stay accommodations.

The location puts the hotel in the middle of one of the Valley’s expanding employment and healthcare corridors. Along Loop 101, the area has attracted major corporate employers, including American Express, Axon and Republic Services. Sprouts Farmers Market is also expanding its corporate presence at City North; continued development in Desert Ridge and surrounding communities is bringing offices, restaurants, shopping and residential opportunities.

Hotel Six Four, Mayo Blvd will be located less than a mile from Mayo Clinic’s Phoenix campus and near Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, ASU’s Health Futures Center and the developing Discovery Oasis biotechnology campus.

“This project is about much more than hotel rooms,” said Sharon Harper, Chairman and CEO of Plaza Companies. “We are developing a hospitality destination less than a mile from healthcare centers, major corporate employers and some of the Valley’s best dining, shopping and recreational opportunities.”

The hotel’s proximity to Mayo Clinic is particularly important for patients and families.

“As Mayo Clinic continues to grow in Arizona, so does the need for services that support those traveling here for care,” said Richard Gray, M.D., CEO of Mayo Clinic in Arizona. “We care for patients who come to Phoenix from across the country and around the world. Convenient lodging, dining and other nearby services is an important part of supporting those patients and families while they are away from home.”

Each side of the hotel will offer a distinct experience. The Tapestry Collection by Hilton accommodations will feature locally inspired design rooted in the Sonoran Desert, while Homewood Suites by Hilton will provide extended-stay options with kitchens and living areas. The property will include a signature first-floor restaurant and bar operated by New York-based Renwick Hospitality Group. Additional amenities will include a pool, fitness center and meeting space.

“North Phoenix continues to attract significant investment in healthcare, business, housing and hospitality, creating new opportunities for residents and strengthening Phoenix’s economy,” Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego said. “Hotel Six Four, Mayo Blvd is a great example of the private investment helping transform this part of our city into a dynamic destination for visitors, businesses and residents.”
