A typical day in my life includes… ALWAYS waking up before the rest of the house; usually at about 5:45, or earlier if I can. The key for me is to get out in front of my inbox and enjoy my coffee in peace before the chaos erupts. My husband and I get the kids dressed, fed, lunches packed, and out the door to school. From there, I walk another 3 blocks to the gym for a high-intensity 30-minute workout. I’m telling you, it’s the hardest, most efficient workout ever. I get home, hop in the shower, and I’m already back at my computer by 9am for meetings. Some days, I’ll go down to the Chicago museum to work, or I’ll camp out at a coffee shop in my neighborhood. I wrap up my work day around 4:30pm to relieve our nanny and cart various kids off to basketball, swimming, or dance and attempt to get dinner made at a reasonable hour (note to self: 8pm is not reasonable). After getting the kids to bed, it’s clean up and wind-down time. It’s funny I call it that because half the time I take out my computer to get more work done. The hustle doesn’t stop until about 10:30 or 11pm. I do travel to Philly and Scottsdale often for work. Even though I’m working, those are my more “relaxing” days.

I was born… in Aurora, Illinois. Which is a suburb of Chicago – excellent!

My favorite thing about Arizona… it’s always warmer than Chicago. And those blue skies!

I’m listening to… 90’s hip hop and Kid Cudi are my go-to’s. With a little Paw Patrol and Raffi for good measure.

My family… is everything to me.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be… Charles Barkley. The NBA is always on in my house (thanks to my husband and son) and there’s no question I’ve watched more hours of Charles Barkley than Bravo lately. I’ve really come to appreciate his humor and the way he speaks his mind so boldly. He’d be fun to hang with.

One thing I cannot live without… wine. And my esthetician for reversing any negative effects of said wine.

When I was younger, I wanted to be… an Olympic gymnast.

I’m inspired by… my dad. He’s overcome countless obstacles in his life and in his career and he’s worked incredibly hard to get to where he is today.

The one person who motivates me is… my friends. I have a small circle and they’re always cheering me on and motivating me to be better. Even if they don’t know it.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be… public education. Where do I start?

The perfect day would be… a day outside with friends and the kids, dinner downtown with my husband, and a movie night on the couch with my family.

My first job was… when I was 16. I was a cashier at a Nissan dealership.

My favorite escape… the gym. It’s my me-time and allows me to completely unplug from everything else.

My life… is never where I would have pictured it to be if you asked me 5 years ago. And I couldn’t be happier about it.

I’m currently working on… our Chicago museum refresh and expansion project.

Always… be present.

Never… overcommit yourself. Learn how to say no.

Favorite Quote… ”They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.”

Biggest Dream… is to be a positive example for my kids. I want them to be kind. To work hard. And to realize their potential.

My Pet Peeve(s)… Misspelled words. Bad dishwasher loading skills. A toilet paper roll that goes under and not over. When someone reclines on a 2-hour flight. I should probably stop.
