Annexus Pro-Am to TPC Scottsdale at the Waste Management Phoenix Open

While the PGA TOUR-event portion of the Waste Management Phoenix Open will take place Thursday, Jan. 30 to Sunday, Feb. 2, the Wednesday before is arguably one of the best days to go to The People’s Open. Wednesday, Jan. 29, brings the ever-popular Annexus Pro-Am to TPC Scottsdale where fans can catch a glimpse of celebrities, rock stars, professional athletes, coaches and community leaders playing with the TOUR pros. Fans are encouraged to stick around at the 16th hole for the Phoenix Suns Charities Shot at Glory – a unique closest-to-the-pin contest for charity with a $1 million prize for a hole in one.

This year brings yet another impressive list of sports stars and celebrities to the “celebrity” Pro-Am. Arizona Cardinals legendary wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Archie Bradley, Arizona Coyotes legend Shane Doan, country music sensation Dierks Bentley (who is also headlining the Coors Light Birds Nest on Friday), NFL wide receiver Golden Tate, two-time World Series champion Shane Victorino, NBA champion J.R. Smith, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Super Bowl champion Reggie Bush will all take part in the 2020 edition of the Annexus Pro-Am.

Wednesday is also the first night of the Coors Light Birds Nest, a four-night concert series located inside an enormous tent across the street from the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The Birds Nest, with its great music, beautiful patrons and enthusiastic partying, has earned near legendary status on the PGA TOUR offering a show totally unlike anything associated with professional golf.

The 2020 Coors Light Birds Nest features Miranda Lambert and Cody Johnson on Wednesday, hip-hop superstar G-Eazy and Warren G on Thursday, Dierks Bentley and his 90’s cover band Hot Country Knights will play a sold-out show on Friday and EDM icon KYGO and special guest A R I Z O N A will round out the Birds Nest on Saturday. –Jonathan Crist
