New Collection: Pottery Barn Summer 2016 Capsule Collections

Pottery Barn today debuted two exclusive capsule collections by West Coast-based designers, Shane Brown of Big Daddy’s Antiques and Pauline Boyd of Counterpane Quilts.

Shane Brown of Big Daddy’s Antiques is an antiques hunter and furniture designer, well-known for outfitting celebrity homes and high-end retail spaces. Brown travels the world in search of one-of-a-kind vintage pieces and his retail locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Aspen and Seattle house his vast antiques collections and original custom pieces. Pauline Boyd is the Los Angeles-based textile artist behind Counterpane Quilts. Inspired by the quilt making tradition of Gee’s Bend, Alabama and Japanese Boro techniques, she has created her own modern masterpieces updating the art of conventional quilt construction with the use of vintage clothing and exotic textiles. Both Brown and Boyd, known for their eclectic processes, have partnered with the Pottery Barn design team to create exclusive furniture and textile designs that bring an artistic sensibility to the Pottery Barn home.

Big Daddy’s for Pottery Barn furniture encompasses the essence of treasure hunter and furniture designer Shane Brown. Established in 1996 in Los Angeles, California, Brown’s Big Daddy’s Antiques has curated a collection of one-of-a-kind antique finds and originally inspired pieces from Asia, Europe, and North America. Brown has brought his unique eye and rustic chic sensibility to the Pottery Barn capsule collection which includes a reclaimed wood bed ($1,599-1,799), bedside table ($549), indoor/outdoor teak coffee table ($699), indoor/outdoor teak dining table ($1,499-3,593), and brass bar console with mirrored shelves ($599). Inspired by original pieces and materials, these exclusive furniture pieces have been constructed with the highest quality and durability. The Counterpane for Pottery Barn collection by Pauline Boyd includes four unique quilts and complementary pillow covers. True to her improvisational style, each piece has been carefully designed by Boyd using remnants and scraps sourced from antique textiles, vintage clothes and other fabrics collected on her many travels. Each tapestry is beautifully sewn into a colorful pattern creating a collection of modern heirloom pieces. The Counterpane for Pottery Barn quilts will retail at $299 with pillows covers at $89.50-$99.50.
